This property has split management - there is Gather who owns the property and will be the contact on the app, then there is a local property manager. Initially dealing with Gather was a little strange - they try to get you to go off of the Airbnb platform, fill out paperwork, sign separate agreements, and answer questions about everyone in your party. I refused to do any of that and they didn't push back. The good rating is really for the house/location and for the local property manager Sophia. Sophia was great. We communicated via text. She was super responsive and helpful. 5 shining stars for Sophia. The place was very walkable to the beach and downtown Hanalei. Amenities are what you'd need for a fun beach vacation. Parking was ample/easy. Kitchen was well stocked. There were helpful/fun books and games. There are window AC units in the bedrooms that make for comfortable sleeping. There were a few minor issues, but nothing crazy and Sophia helped with everything.

Words cannot fully capture the magic of this place. Visiting Kauai for the first time, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a stunning retreat to call home during my stay. Tucked away from the main road, the house offers complete tranquility, with a quiet and safe neighborhood that settles into peaceful stillness after 8 PM. Its location is perfect—a short walk to a breathtaking beach and within easy walking distance of everything the town has to offer. This truly feels like heaven on earth. The host goes above and beyond, providing thoughtful touches like beach chairs and other amenities that made the experience even more enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to returning!

May 03, 2024 This home is such a gem! I didn’t know I was going to love this location so much. We could walk to the farmers market, the beach, and the town with amazing shops and food! The home was so well stocked, clean, and nicely decorated. And when we needed something we were quickly responded to and supported! The views were beautiful. May 03, 2024 This home was absolutely perfect for our family of four and the photos truly do not do this space justice! It was refreshing to stay in a private neighborhood as opposed to a resort this time. I felt totally comfortable letting my kids play outside without having to watch over them so closely. The view from the Lanai was so amazing that my wife did not believe it was real. Two short blocks to the beautiful Hanalei Beach. Three blocks to Hanalei Town. Short drive to Tunnels Beach and Foodland for supplies. This is where you want to be in Kauai. Super clean and fully stocked location. Bryan Hickey

The house felt loved and cared for in a way that made us feel like we were in our own home. They had every “extra” you might think of including spices and sunblock. We felt well taken care of. Such an amazing place. Hanalei in general and the home in particular. The property manager was super attentive and all the amenities were perfect. May 03, 2024 Hale Kanani is the absolutely perfect house for a vacation to the north shore of Kauai. Everything in the house is new and updated, and it has all been thoughtfully curated with all your vacation home needs. We especially enjoyed the lanai, which was never too hot for lounging. The proximity to Hanalei Bay was so convenient, and also all of the other north shore beaches. We can't wait to return soon! Kelly Noonan
Apr 05, 2024 This is a beautiful, homy and comfortable place just a short walk from the beach. Everything is updated and well appointed, and it was squeaky clean. There is plenty of space, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need including spices and seasonings. The bed was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the deck and bbq grill and beach equipment! The glass louvers provided a comfortable cross breeze - we never turned on the a/c. I recommend bringing ear plugs though as, like everywhere on Kauai, the chickens start early! A few neighborhood dogs also joined in the early morning cacophony. Our host was proactive, easy to communicate with and helpful. We had a great time and highly recommend this property. James Low

Sep 19, 2024 We had a fantastic stay in Hanalei! The house was larger than expected, well stocked and spotless. We appreciated the beach chairs and extra masks, fins and snorkels. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains and waterfall from teh porch each morning. Sophia was wonderful to communicate with, and even dropped off a yoga mat minutes after requesting one. Beach and town are within a very short distance, the place is recently renovated, comfortable and clean with plenty of space and all the things you may need during your stay, including water toys. I understand that it is an island but Gather should employ some bug service or bug man to help mitigate the large variety of pests mosquitos roaches spiders etc. If pests bother you I would say look elsewhere. Feb 26, 2024 Location, location, location. Close to everything you want to do in Hanalei Bay. Shops, restaurants and beautiful beach all within walking distance. The house is very comfortable, clean and well-decorated. Almost perfect in every way. The only thing we struggled with was barking dogs and crowing roosters. Rooster noise is an issue all over the island but that along with noisy dogs was a bit much at times. That being said, I would still stay here again because it is exceptional in every other way. Great bathroom products, beach gear, basic cooking ingredients, comfy bedding, basket of sunblock, books and games. We finally decided to stay In Hanalei and this house was incredible. It was even better than the photos as the kitchen and bathrooms have been pristinely renovated. Nov 18, 2024 This home is one of the nicest Airbnb’s that I’ve rented. It’s a very well designed home, comfortable, spacious, and great amenities for a family on vacation. The host, Gather, was very responsive and helpful to make our vacation enjoyable. Location: You’re in Hanalei Bay, not outside in Princeville, which is incredible for easy access to beaches, shops and restaurants. This made our trip! Where Princeville is a soulless set of townhomes, Hanalei is a charming and eclectic Hawaiian town full of local businesses, wonderful food and gorgeous scenery. The home is next to Hanalei School, that means you’re close but not in town, and walking distance to a less crowded part of Hanalei Bay beach. But the lack of sidewalk made it stressful to walk into town so we most often drove which was perfectly fine as parking in town and at our Airbnb were easy. *Note that they appear to be surveying right now to build a sidewalk in 2025. House is very very quiet with the exception of during the weekday when trucks are getting gardening supplies from the landscaper up the street other than that I totally enjoyable and beautiful stay and why should you be in the house when Hanalei Bay is steps away? My son was able to attend online classes using the home Wi-Fi, and the whole house was immaculately clean when we arrived. Plenty of beach gear is provided, and the shower water pressure was great. Feb 15, 2025 Great place in Hanalei Easy-Peasy check in and out. Very proactive and responsive communication with the host. Location is perfect...maybe 1/3 mile from middle of Hanalei. and a variety of beaches Great price value relative to the market rate. Very clean and well stocked with everything you could need or want. Hanalei is a magical place....those of you thinking of Princeville, head over the single-lane wooden bridge into Hanalei and really appreciate the North Shore. Highly recommend this sweet crib. Aug 05, 2025 Beautiful peaceful home 2 mins from Hanalei Bay beach and town! Super convenient and comfortable, it’s so nice to be able to walk through paradise every morning. The manager Sophia was very helpful and friendly during our tsunami scare and made the situation much less stressful. Rosa Hu

Dec 07, 2025 Perfect stay! Perfect stay! Walking distance to Hanalei restaurants/shops. House came equipped with all beach gear needed, which was really nice!! Very clean and organized. It was great having the washer and dryer accessible!! There was a window AC unit, but we did not use - open windows and fans kept us comfortable. Nohemi Razo

Jan 24, 2026 Nicely renovated traditional Hawaiian home within easy walking distance of Hanalei Bay and the town. Well appointed and had everything we needed. It’s located at the end of a road with an agricultural facility that was busy with vehicles and large trucks and could be noisy at times. Overall and nice stay. Janell Bryan
Feb 09, 2026 Proximity to Hanalei was good but the house was disappointing. It is next to a chain link fence and an industrial business with gravel and other large trucks coming and going. The business has a large pack of dogs that make a significant amount of noise. The neighbors are so close you can hear their conversations in normal voices. The refrigerator broke. The house was cold. Otherwise the house was clean, comfortable and large. Guest

Feb 27, 2026 This house is a cool oasis from hustle and bustle of the mainland. Very beachy vibe. It has everything you could want for a relaxing or active time in Hanalei. Just off the main road, nestled in trees. Neighbors are close but I never heard them. (I did however occasionally hear trucks coming up and down the road from neighboring landscaping(?) business on the street but this was not every day). The house is appointed with high quality bedding, towels, toiletries and beach equipment. Plenty of spices for cooking. Everything in working order. Labels on all the light switches was great because there are so many lights and fans it would be confusing otherwise. I am fastidious and this house meets my standards, which says a lot! TIP: Request written directions to the property. The Google map pin was way off and I was lost for quite a while. Fortunately, the host was available to help me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Lisa Wolff
