May 08, 2024 An amazing property a few minutes walk from the most idyllic beach I’ve ever visited. My husband and toddler stayed for a few days at the end of our Kauai stay and it was the perfect private retreat. The place was spotless and had all the amenities we could need when travelling. The Gather team accommodated an early check in for us and were extremely friendly and responsive. We will stay again for our family vacations to the island. Lia Montgomery

May 03, 2024 We had a truly magical time at this house with our family of four! The house is well laid out and very peaceful and quiet. It’s surrounded by beautiful palms, ferns and flowering Banyans. The location is perfect ~ very walkable to Tunnels (the best snorkeling on the island IMHO), close by car to Ke’e and the Kalalau Trail (FYI you need reservations in advance now!) and Limahuli Gardens. Hanalei with all of it’s wonderful restaurants (Baracuda, AMA, Postcards ~ again make reservations well before your trip) is a fifteen minute drive away and such a special little town. We walked back and forth from the beach several times a day and loved going there for the miraculous sunsets as well. The fans and many screened windows kept a nice breeze blowing through the house. The wrap around lanai is wonderful for watching sunrise and sunsets and the outdoor shower is a nice perk. The host is very responsive and helpful. Don’t pass up the chance to stay in this paradise! May 03, 2024 The company was super helpful and check-in was extremely easy. The house itself was perfectly placed for an easy walk to Tunnels Beach, which was lovely, not overcrowded and shockingly good snorkeling. Hanalei was the nearest town and there were great restaurants, food trucks, and grocery stores there. Ha'ena State Park was super close and we made two reservations in two weeks, walked to the State Beach bus stop, and had an easy trip in and REALLY enjoyed the hike to the park beach (moderately hard 4 miles rt) and to the AMAZING falls (hard and 8+ miles rt). The house itself was clean and super well equipped with full kitchen accoutrements and simple (non-food) staples (like spices, oil, etc). Nice smart tv, lots of board games, plenty of beach towels, several beach chair, umbrellas and two complete sets of snorkeling gear. The house is not fancy but it is nice and perfectly placed and stocked for enjoying Ha'ena. We had a fantastic time there! Lili Foster

May 03, 2024 Really great location, easy walk to Tunnels Beach along the main road. We used wagons to cart our stuff and kids which was very helpful and made the walk a breeze. House is well laid out, great space for multiple families to come together for a wonderful trip. House stayed cool as long as we kept windows open and fans going. Neighbors were friendly and had some great local recommendations. While the roosters did indeed crow, white noise machines mitigated the impact even with all the windows open. Upstairs loft bedroom gets a lot of light and great views— since no shades on windows and wood slats need to stay open to get cool breeze, and one long window has no cover at all— people who like to wake up with the sun should sleep up there! Grill was great, outdoor shower was great, washer and dryer were key, Bluetooth speaker was easy to use. Loved the games and toys in the living room too. Very easy to work with property manager. Overall, really great place and would stay there again! Cole Shiflett

May 03, 2024 This home was amazing and perfect location to enjoy Tunnels- our favorite beach. Home had everything we needed in clean if not new condition. Great breezes and loved wrap around porch- very comfortable beds! 5 min walk to beach- beach chairs were worn-some broken- need replace- Terrific communication from start to finish- We hope to return- Mahalo!! ♥️🌴♥️ Denise Gebb

May 03, 2024 I know, I know, it is totally a personal statement, but I think this home is located just off one of the most magical beaches on earth. If you are considering staying here, DO. Just do. The house is perfect, it's clean, great kitchen, great loft for kids to sleep in. Check-in and communication was excellent, easy. The real thing you are doing by renting this house though is gaining access to a part of Kauai that is so tricky to access otherwise. You can walk (coffee in hand for sunrise and beer in hand for sunset) to the MOST beautiful beach, barefoot, multiple times a day. There are chairs and towels and coolers....anything you might need to just relax and enjoy. Again, I just can't recommend this home enough....it is such a gift to spend time at. Suzanne Feldman

Mar 29, 2024 Had a little family vacation here. The house had everything we needed. Felt safe and was in a nice quiet neighborhood. We were able to walk to the beach and the outdoor shower with hot water which is wonderful. Wanted to stay close to tunnels and we got lucky with the weather and had a great time! Highly recommend. Mar 01, 2024 Hallor house was perfect for what we were looking for on our vacation, secluded, quiet, and we loved taking strolls down to tunnels beach and farther. It is bit of a drive to Hanalei(15min) but we had no problems with it, we planned accordingly, recommend getting groceries on your way there the save market in Hanalei had everything we needed! House was well equipped from kitchen appliances to beach gear, snorkels, chairs, mats, umbrellas. Sophia was wonderful with communicating. We can’t wait to go back! Jan 22, 2024 The house was even better than expected; we loved the outdoor shower, snorkel/beach gear and decor. The place is even better than the photos and it was the most well equipped airbnb we’ve stayed in. The kids loved the loft, and the permanent neighbors on the street are very friendly. Hanalei is such a cute town and Anini beach was our favorite- amazing snorkeling and calm beach! This was an extremely last minute trip and we’re so lucky this home was available. Jan 17, 2024 What a special place and a wonder location on the island. You feel removed from the hustle of the islands as soon as you hit those one way bridges. Little removed from some activities but just need to plan accordingly. Beautiful house and beautiful location. Craig Pester

May 25, 2024 Our stay was very relaxing. The house is comfortable and located in a wonderful spot, walking distance to beautiful beach access or a quick drive to restaurants and shopping. The roosters are very loud, very early each morning but certainly add to the overall Kauai charm. My only two suggestions would be to work on the guest bath shower that squeals SO loudly after the first few minutes of use as well as add a few, new, complimentary umbrellas to the hat rack for borrowing on especially rainy days. Jun 09, 2024 What an absolutely awesome little place. I had stayed in Kauai before but only saw the north shore from a helicopter at the end of my first trip. Made it a point to come back to Kauai and spend a week on the north shore. This house and this part of the island are what you dream Hawaii to be. Lush greenery everywhere with some occasional light rain coming down and dusting everything with life. Truly a dream. Will definitely come back again. The trail to tunnels beach is arguably hard to find but close. Apple Maps will take you there if you type in tunnels beach. It’s at the end of a small street. Parking is difficult at the lot down the road at the beach. You’re best to walk. The house has tubes, beach chairs, umbrellas, and everything you need to enjoy days at the beach. Book this house you won’t be disappointed. There’s really no need for a huge house on the island. Most houses are small. If I had the budget I would buy this place as a second home. I hope to come back again soon. Ryan Bourque

Sep 02, 2024 We loved our stay at Hallor House! It was perfect for 4 adults and one infant. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed and took about 5 min to walk to the most beautiful beach in Kauai. There was also great beach supplies provided (chairs, umbrellas, snorkels, sand castle building supplies, wagon) and board games for family game night. The house has everything you need and felt like true paradise! We will miss the sea turtles from our morning walks to the beach and beautiful birds that came to visit while we ate breakfast every morning. It is a little off the beaten path, which we enjoyed, but lots of driving on a windy narrow road to get there, so something to consider if you are planning to explore beyond the north side of the island.
