The home is awesome. When you first walk in the front door- you are struck by the incredible view of God’s creation of this most beautiful island and bright blue ocean - and then the huge family room/dining and kitchen all connected with tall ceilings and warm decor. The view out to the pool and spa with a beautiful garden and tiki torches makes you want to stay “forever”. We had 10 guests and there is enough room to gather and yet also enough space to find a quiet spot on the swinging bench to read a book. Every day we started with coffee and some quiet time - a big family style breakfast and everyone could sit at one beautiful table. Then a sight seeing tour or beach visit just down the road to Poipu and a walk and lunch. Then a dip in the pool with everyone hanging out enjoying time together. The pool and spa are perfect. As the sun goes down - light the tiki torch and warm up the grill. We loved it so much that we actually cooked every dinner at the home and no one wanted to leave. A few games, some funny stories and a great nights sleep in comfy beds and beautiful bed rooms. We loved being able to use the TV outside for music to set the mood. No body wanted to watch TV - too peaceful ! Great job on this most beautiful home and the amenities where all simply perfect. We are coming back! PS some friends stayed at a local hotel… they all wanted to hang out at “our place”. 👊👊🙏

The place was beautiful and perfect for our large extended family of 9 (with room to spare). Further away from the beach but easy to access and we enjoyed the private pool. The host was helpful and immediate responsive to questions and addressing any issues.

Mar 06, 2023 A truly amazing vacation rental! The combination of indoor and outdoor space was wonderful and all the decor was top notch. The house was generously equipped with dishes, wine glasses and all sorts of spices and condiments for the gourmet cook. The interior and exterior lighting was outstanding and you couldn't beat the view in the evening of the the sparkling blue lit pool with tiki torches burning in the yard. Jul 14, 2024 I was able to meet the staff and they were very friendly and made my family and myself feel at home, beautiful home the pictures of the home were good, but the home itself looked better in person then the pictures. Feb 28, 2025 Nice House Noteworthy pros & cons of Hale Pomaikai Mou (5211 Kainani Pl, Koloa) , in February 2025. PROS: 1) Outstanding pool and pool deck, with an integrated ("floating") hot tub, and 3 bar stools in the pool. The pool deck was large, with both sunny & undercover areas, and comfortable seating. The hot tub controls were simple, & worked well. The pool water temperature was fine, and the water was consistently clean. The swings outside the two back bedrooms were good for relaxing and reading. 2) The floorplan of the house was simple yet practical: a central great room opening into four bedrooms (two on each side). High ceilings lent an airy/roomy feel to the house. The kids enjoyed the bunk room. Each bedroom had it's own ensuite bathroom (all with water closets). The back two bedrooms opened directly onto the pool deck. 3) The house had a “new” feel to it – updated, clean, with everything in good working order (except the screen doors on one bedroom). 4) The kitchen was well-supplied. 5) Plenty of beach towels, bath towels, paper towels, shower supplies, etc. 6) Sonos sound system. 7) Nice neighborhood (Kukuiula Resort); it was excellent for walking & running. 8) Good WiFi signal at the pool using the -EXT internet signal (this wasn't mentioned in the house guidebook). 9) The small backyard, with a firepit, was a nice bonus. CONS: 1) The ocean was not visible from the pool deck when sitting; it was visible (a half mile away), when standing on the pool deck, via five or six “peekaboo” views. Some in our group thought the view (greenery & partial ocean view) was just fine. The (distant) golf course was visible only when standing at the west edge of the property. 2) Whale-watching was not a realistic endeavor. 3) No DVR. 4) Pedestrian sunsets. Overall, Hale Pomaikai Mou was a terrific house as evidenced by the predominance of "pros" above, especially regarding the area that got lots of use - the pool and pool deck. John F.
Jul 29, 2025 We had an amazing stay at this rental! The home was incredibly well-kept and spacious, with plenty of sleeping room for both kids and adults—perfect for our large group. The beautiful scenery surrounding the property added such a peaceful and relaxing touch to our trip. The private pool was a major highlight! It gave our family hours of fun and created lasting memories. From morning swims to evening hangs by the pool, it truly made our stay unforgettable. The hosts were fantastic—super responsive and just a quick text away. Any questions or needs we had were taken care of right away, which made everything so smooth and stress-free. They were also gracious enough to let our family stay a little past check-out when our flight was unexpectedly delayed, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend for families or large groups looking for a comfortable, scenic, and memorable getaway! Jan W

Dec 04, 2025 perfect house in paradise The house was amazing! It was a great fit for our group of 7 adults and 2 young kiddos. We loved having the spacious rooms in the four corners of the house, with a marvelous kitchen, dining area, and great room in the middle. And that indoor dining table was a work of art and perfect for our Thanksgiving meal together! Of course it all flowed seamlessly out into the back lanai and yard. We were in the pool/spa for hours every day and spent evenings either at the outdoor table (also very nice!) or the firepit, which we loved as a place to stargaze and share our stories of the day together. The house was located just a few minute drive from plenty of food and shopping options, which made it super convenient for us. Overall, this was the perfect house in paradise for us! Gene Billingsley
