Beautiful home with astonishing ocean view. Ideal location with easy access to the busy city shops and restaurants without feeling like you were in the middle of it. Excellent place for a family get together and to recharge and relax!

A very nice place - excellent location! Garage was loaded with beach and snorkel equipment and plenty of towels. I gave 4 stars because the fixtures and door locks are a bit outdated for an elite/premium property. For example, the lock/latch mechanisms on the doors are hard to open and sometimes got stuck - we had one guest get locked in the bathroom! The attached ohana suite with two bedrooms can’t be locked from the inside - and I didn’t feel comfortable locking our children in from the outside at night.

May 21, 2021 Ahhhhhmazzzing The pics of this property are stunning, but seeing this property in person will amaze you. Grant was our property manager and we managed to lock ourselves out of one of the gates (because we didn’t read the instructions thoroughly). Grant came over right away and helped us out. He gave us a tour of the property and was easy to communicate with throughout the trip. He truly made the experience better than we dreamed! The kitchen was complete with all the appliances, utensils, and cooking needs. There’s a washer/dryer, bikes, floaties, boogie boards in the garage for use. Tons of beach towels too! The location is perfect because it is right at the beginning of Diamond Head towards the end of Waikiki. Convenience is everything. You don’t need to sacrifice choosing a home with a pool or beach because this property has both. We couldn’t help but take sooooo many pics in the backyard because it felt like every hour was “golden hour”. Will definitely be booking this place again, cannot wait to return. Jessica I

May 03, 2024 Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed this home for 5 nights. The house is beautifully kept and had many extras that most others don’t such as beach chairs, a wagon, bikes, sunscreens, towels, all the little things. We enjoyed early morning coffee sitting at the stone wall watching the waves crash over the reefs. So thankful we got a chance to stay here for part of our visit. Carie Senecal
May 03, 2024 We loved everything about our stay here. The home itself is beautiful and the location is great. It’s close enough to the action but far enough away to have some privacy. It was nice to have access to beach gear and toys as well as bikes. We enjoyed hanging out at the pool and sitting in the backyard listening to the crashing waves and watching sunsets. Checking in and out was super easy and we had no issues, everything was great. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property! Jeff Frey
May 03, 2024 Had a great time at Hale Makai. Having the concierge service to contact with any issues was a great bonus. The views are stunning, the pool is a great alternative as you can't swim right out front. Easy walk to many places such as parks or down to Waikiki. We hosted a family gathering for my extended family from Australia one evening and booked the Private Chefs on offer for the night. It was brilliant! To bring family together in such a great setting was the perfect end to our family reunion. Maria Collins

Dec 15, 2023 Honestly we were so blessed by this amazing home and location. The size was perfect for our family (2 bedrooms and the Ohana was perfect along with the powder bath). From the moment we walked into this magical home we were amazing by the cleanliness, quality of finishes, and overall the amenities and location. The pool and ocean view was perfect. Coffee with the sunrise and dinner at sunset was magical. The location being just outside the city was perfect. We didn't want to be in the heart of all the action but loved the walkability (only 20 mins) to shops and coffee and dinner. The short walk up Diamond Head to the light house for the sunrise was epic and a highlight each day. The beach access just a few houses down the street was amazing. We loved the local beach and slow vibes. We stayed here for the Marathon and loved the location. It was so easy and really fun to watch the racers go by when we finished. The property managers were very attentive and the owner was great about replacing a few things that naturally broke when we were there (umbrella broke and a new showed up hours later). Oct 24, 2023 My wife and I took my Mom on her dream vacation to Hawaii and we couldn’t have picked a better house. Located in Diamond head it was fantastic location and close to everything from downtown Waikiki to easy access to the eastern side of Oahu. The house was stunning as it opens up directly to the ocean and has a walkway that leads down to a catwalk right on the water. If you walk right or left on the catwalk you will come to small parks with trees for hammacks and beach access. Air conditioning was great and kept the house cool when needed. Pool was also great as well and very clean. Parking area is EXTREMELY tight with a shared driveway and especially if you bring a bigger or longer vehicle you will test your parking skills. Helps to open the garage and pull your vehicle in just a bit to then back up and get your vehicle in. Do wish they would have provided some coffee of some type for arriving guests. All in all it was a great experience and hosts are very responsive! Kris Rader

Jun 08, 2024 There are no words to describe how much my family and I loved this house. The view is breathtaking. Walkable to a small, beautiful beach. Green space for my toddler to run around safely. Indoor/outdoor living. Beautiful sunset views. There were 7 of us, and we didn’t feel crowded. We had ample space to spread out. Beds were cozy. TVs were smart TVs. Hosts were very proactive, professional, and responsive. Felt as if I was staying in a 5 star resort. The memories my family and I made here will stay with us as some of our favorites for the rest of our lives. Thank you. Autumn Dunlap

Oct 23, 2024 What a find! I almost didn't want to leave the airbnb some days because the view of the waves, surfers and boats from our backyard was just so captivating... AND THOSE SUNSETS! We also has a perfect view of Diamond Head from the pool area, where we spent a lot of time. The water temp felt perfect and we loved having access to all the pool and beach gear so we didn't have to get our own. In addition to the amazing location and views, the house itself was both stunning and comfortable. We loved that the sliding doors/walls in the back of the house opened up completely so you could create a blended indoor-outdoor space. We did morning stretches on the grass, read books on the lounge chairs, ate al fresco for all of our meals -- it was a dream. The only thing that could have made this better was direct access to the catwalk along the water (though it was very easy to get to) and no construction noise (but we knew that this was going to be happening). Jun 24, 2024 We truly can't say enough about this place and the host. The starter pack was incredible, most leave you with enough bathroom tissue to maybe blow your nose and the bottled water waiting on us was perfect. Absolutely beautiful setting, the yard is manicured, plenty of room, the host immediately responded to any questions we had. Enough beach towels, every day linens, even shampoo and conditioner. We have stayed at quite a few really good listings, but this place and staff are on a whole different level. Thank you for sharing your paradise! Greg & Candice Gentry

We love how open the space is and how clean it is. The pool was lovely and the front yard breathtakingly beautiful. The host was very responsive and when we had questions we always got a quick and clear response. Definitely will come again. Ann W

The layout made it feel very spacious, and the air conditioning kept all rooms comfortable and cooled the house quickly when we chose to use it. Easy access to the beach and everything we could think of was provided and available at the house. We’d love to stay here again! Sarah R
