We loved this house! So much space for a big group. Comfortable outside seating options which is where we hung out the most. Very well stocked with kitchen items and beach chairs, etc. The location is great, not too far to get to many spots. The best snorkeling we found during our whole vacation was the access spot across the street from the house. We saw turtles, eels, and manta rays. We would definitely return to this house!

Great place. Short walk to the beach. Lots of space, good beds and rooms. Outdoor space was very nice and where we spent most of our time as a group. Highly recommend!

Ohana Honu exceeded our expectations!

Ohana Honu exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms were spacious. The gathering spaces were comfortable and roomy for our family of 8 adults and 4 children. The kitchen appliances are new and for a family that likes to cook, the kitchen had all the tools we needed. Being able to walk to a beach for the sunset and only a short drive to Hapuna and other nearby snorkeling beaches was great. We are already talking about a return visit next year.

Feb 03, 2023 We loved the house- there was so much room and extra space. I wish they would up the amount of people allowed to stay because there is plenty of space to fill! The house itself provides that traditional Hawaiian style twist. The fruit plants and trees- SO yummy! Turkeys? Yes please! The location was amazing- a very quick- back road drive to our favorite beach- hapuna. The beach that was somewhat walkable (15 minute walk) was pretty rocky but a beautiful spot (not somewhere I would lounge for the day though). The puako store just a minute or less drive down has a surprisingly diverse selection of goods! The only con I would say would be the lack of beach equipment. they say they have all the beach stuff- but no cooler and no boogie boards (though someone gave us some and we left them there to add to the collection). We go to big island every year and have stayed in a variety of different locations- when someone says beach gear- I expect all the goodies ? Amarie D

Jan 10, 2024 We had 7 adults in our group - 3 generations between the ages of 29 and 84. We all found the perfect bedroom for our needs. The bedrooms have A/C splits, and the common areas are cooled with ceiling fans and open windows. There was a quiet place for each and every one of us to relax, read, or work, as well as plenty of space for us to gather for meals, games, and conversation. There are two separate washers and dryers, which made it easy for us to keep up with laundry. The main kitchen has lots of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and glassware, plus cleaning supplies. There are two smaller kitchens, which are great for refrigerator/freezer storage and for the use of a second oven, which we used for Christmas dinner. We also enjoyed the pool, which is nice and cold - a perfect place to cool down on a hot day. We had a couple of minor issues arise, and Eilis was responsive and took responsibility. We would recommend this property to any family wanting to stay close to resorts and beaches. Hk Buck

Nov 21, 2023 What an amazing home. The layout was perfect for multiple family groups to each have privacy and the pool was perfect for cooling off in the Puako heat. We had a little trouble getting some of the air conditioning units to work - maybe door sensors not lining up properly - but didn't really miss them. The point of being there was being in the hot weather, not in the cold mauka wind of our daily lives. There is a security camera that watches the common area. We plugged it back in when we left for the security of the property but since we didn't leave the house unattended we didn't think it needed to watch us. Jaclyn MacKinnon

May 13, 2024 I loved this place. We had a family reunion with 16 people. 12 of us stayed at this house with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked, the pool was wonderful, and the beach was within minutes. I loved everything about it. Alexandra Goodrich

Wonderful outdoor living area, and even though we were steps from ocean-access, the pool was really great to have. Quiet neighborhood, with a small market close by. Oct 15, 2025 will definitely come back! We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! It was so much better than we had expected. The house is very roomy and we were able to sleep our party of 9 with beds to spare. The outdoor space is so amazing and we spent so much time in the pool (which was a delightfully refreshing but not too cold temperature in October!) The house is fully stocked with all sorts of kitchenware, beach equipment/toys, beach towels. We had an amazing time and will definitely come back! Justine C
