This house may be the nicest house we have ever rented. It is so nice and new and the views/sunsets are UNREAL! The house has everything you will need - except a cocktail shaker 😁. Be sure to look for the goats on the golf course in the morning and around 5pm. They are so cute. We used the KTA grocery store a few miles away. There is a harbor less than a mile from there and you can go snorkeling right from there. Be sure to walk to the Outrigger and get a drink and watch the manta rays swim. Other things are close by too. We found it to be a perfect place to launch our Hawaiian adventures. We hope to return to the Hawaii and the house again soon!

This was a great home for our week long stay on the big island. Our kids (9 and 12) loved the pool and we loved the location and view. The house itself was very clean and all of the furnishings were new and well maintained. It was a quiet neighborhood and a great base for all of our adventures. Overall, it was the best rental house we have stayed at in Hawaii.

Our recent stay at this property was an absolute delight. The place was beautifully designed, providing a calming atmosphere that made our vacation truly relaxing. We particularly loved the pool and hot tub, which offered stunning views that were simply breathtaking. Holua Kai #27 by Gather is a single-story, plantation-style home specifically designed to seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces thanks to its large open floor plan. Its 2,372 square foot layout features 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms with comfortable air conditioning and plenty of beautiful, Hawaiian natural light throughout.

This Big Island vacation home is situated along the 2nd fairway on the lush Kona Country Club’s Makai Golf Course, making it the ideal location for any golf enthusiast. In the mornings, you can enjoy views of early morning tee times and the sparkling Pacific from your oversized, covered lanai. In the evenings, you can squeeze in a relaxing dip in your saltwater, in-ground swimming pool, and spa before a nightcap with your guests. Imagine the evenings you’ll spend here where it’s just you and your loved ones with nothing to do but enjoy one another's company and breathe in the salty, tropical air.

The amenities inside Holua Kai #27 are just as impressive as the ones outside the home, with high-end appliances, a vitamix blender, breville nespresso machine, 75” tv with soundbar and mesh wifi network. The spacious kitchen island includes custom Bordeaux Dream Granite slab countertops and glass backsplash, a GE Monogram Pro stainless steel appliance package, under-cabinet LED lighting, and solid wood cabinetry with soft-close drawers and doors.

This luxury vacation rental is able to accommodate up to 6 guests due to its 3-bedroom layout. The Primary Suite comes complete with a King-size bed and an ensuite featuring a large, free-standing soaking tub, walk-in shower, and split vanities all accented by solid granite countertops. The additional guest bedrooms feature King-size and Twin-size bedroom layouts, with garden views and ensuite bathrooms. With carefully selected furnishings and touches from a professional decorator, you’ll find that Holua Kai #27 will have everything you might need to make this space feel like your Hawaiian home away from home.

Please note that 7 private tennis and 20 pickleball courts are available for guest use for an additional fee. Of those facilities, 5 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts have lights. Court Rentals are $25/hour per court for non-members. If you'd like to become a member of the Holua Kai community, the court rental fee will be waived. To book a private tennis or pickleball court, guests may call or text Holua Kai's shop phone, and let them know of the day and time you are planning to play. A member of Holua Kai's community team will let you know which court(s) are available.

Drop-in, Open Pickleball Play Schedule @ Holua Racquet and Paddle: Every drop-in play is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members pay $10 per session (increasing to $15 starting September 15, 2025). For example, if you join the 8 AM play and pay the session fee, an additional fee applies for the afternoon play. Weekly, monthly, and longer membership rates are available through Holua Kai’s shop.

Pickleball Update (Effective September 15)
To help us keep Holua Kai’s racquet facilities in great condition for everyone, a few updates are being introduced this fall:
* Open Play Sessions: Non-member drop-in rates will adjust from $10 to $15 per person, per session.
Punch Cards:
* 7-punch card: $90 (saves $15).
* 10-punch card: $120 (saves $30).
* Punch cards are valid for Open Play only (not reservations).
* Court Reservations: Tennis and pickleball reservations remain unchanged at $10 per person, per hour.
* Sign-In: For smoother check-ins, all guests will use a quick QR code sign-in.
* Members: simply enter your name.
* Non-members: name plus phone number (and email if requested).
These updates allow Holua Kai to maintain vibrant, well-managed facilities — ensuring you and fellow players can enjoy high-quality courts and a thriving pickleball community year-round.

The kitchen was definitely a chef’s kitchen. All bedroom suites were well-equipped, but the master suite as awesome. :-) The lanai/pool is beautiful. We watched whales from our lanai! The Gather team manages daily matters through their local office rather than Airbnb, and contacting the local office requires phone calls, which can be a bit less convenient. We liked the house layout, and appreciate the modern furnishing and styling. The prop management team was easy to speak with and resolved a problem we had quickly. All appliances were high end like Breville coffee machine. All bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean with plenty of towels. They provided even toothpaste, tooth brush, footwear, and razor blade. We loved having our morning coffee on the lanai overlooking the golf course and ocean. The bedrooms were spacious and private, each with its own bathroom, which was perfect for our group. The pool and hot tub were great after long days exploring the island. And the location is perfect as it is close to beaches, shops, and restaurants, but tucked away in a peaceful gated community.
