Location can not be beat. The complex is right across from the Coconut Marketplace and they have everything. The grounds were like a botanical garden and the unit itself is the best situated: right on the ocean and steps to the pool area. Room was clean and had everything I needed for an epic vacation. Host was responsive and quick to resolve the only issue I had (internet was out). Will absolutely be staying here again.

A serene location for a much needed getaway. I highly recommend this apartment if you are looking for an affordable rental *right on the water!*. Just being able to sit on the lanai each morning and have breakfast was surreal (also the benefit of having the cover from the rain makes it really worth it!). As an added benefit of being so close to the water, the room’s wifi reaches out to the beach! The apartment itself was super clean, has ample cooking equipment for a short stay, and some nice beach gear like chairs and snorkel masks. The property manager was super responsive helpful and kind, responding to all my messages immediately and taking care of any problems I had. The bed was comfortable, and the room has a nice TV with Netflix. The resort itself is super nice, very well manicured gardens, with a well maintained pool, pool-bar, and hot-tub. Also being within walking distance to many shops was fantastic. I can’t wait to come back!

The location is perfect!

The location is perfect! This is a very nice unit close to the ocean and there are lots of shops and restaurants close by. It was really nice sitting on the Lanai and watching the waves roll in. The unit was clean and well stocked with the basics needed to get started. Hoping to stay here again in the future. The property management was always helpful and quick to respond. We never had to wait long to get a questioned answered. It was really nice being in the middle of the island. Made it easy to explore both ends of the island and it's close to the airport. There are chairs on the beach in front of the condo that are really nice place to go sit and watch the sun rise in the morning.

Jan 26, 2024 As many have said, you really can't get better in terms of location in Kapaa. Especially because this is a corner unit, you get the window on the side as well. The ocean view is impeccable. The hosts from Gather were super helpful and kind. The unit was very clean, easy to access and the grounds are so beautiful, much nicer than surrounding properties. No real negatives but I will say while the unit is stocked with everything you'd need it is BASIC. Dishware, bedding, decor (no real decor), furnishings, all super basic. I just feel like it wouldn't take much at all to make this unit stellar with more care to these details but I guess they don't really need to bother since it has all the other positives. That all being said I would stay again but would sure love to decorate the place a bit! :-) Angie Farynnyk

Oct 30, 2023 My wife and I absolutely love this location. We stayed at the same resort years before on our honeymoon and when I saw this unit was available, I jumped on it. Second floor balcony looks directly out to the ocean which makes for beautiful and easy to enjoy sunrises. I loved that I could keep the balcony door open and listen to the waves all night. The unit itself was nice and clean with everything you need! The bed was comfortable and the AC unit kept things nice and cool. It's walking distance from Coconut Marketplace, which has shops, restaurants and a convenience store. I love the location on the island because it's pretty equal distance to the north and south shores. Communication with the host was easy and they were very proactive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back! Steve Kennedy

Oct 12, 2023 Beautiful location! The view can't be beat! Proximity to the little market ended up being HUGE! Easy to restock the fridge and pick up extra shampoo, etc. It's a very short walk to some good restaurants and cool little shops. The pool is right next to the place. We felt this was a plus...especially with the pool bar being so close. The kitchenette was fine. You're not gonna cook anything, but the fridge was plenty big for drinks and leftovers. The microwave came in handy once or twice. Having the beach chairs and little cooler was really nice. We only used them once, but they served their purposes. The one ding I will give the place is that it's a little dated. It certainly didn't detract from the experience, but some minor upgrades would make the place feel a little more modern. Kevin (the property manager) was very responsive and nice. We left a few items in the drawers and he not only let us know promptly, but drove back in bad traffic to give us our stuff on short notice. Aug 16, 2024 Pros: perfect location, view, swimmable beach in front of unit and down the path to the right, around the corner a great beach. Excellent rentals and activities in the marketplace as well as awesome food, snacks, coffee, farmers market- thurs. The pool is great, open 9am-10pm and the bar has really good drinks! Cuter than the photos. The unit has everything you need. Keurig coffee setup. AC, comfy bed, nice sized bathroom. The extra window in this unit is great. Beach chairs, cooler, umbrella were great. Cons: The beach chairs are old and snorkel masks both had issues. The blanket in the bed was a very old fleece blanket. The porch railing was covered in bird shit which I cleaned. The beach towels provided were so old and small, bring your own. The shower head is strong but old and dingy. For the money, it feels disappointing but for waterfront view and all, it’s probably on par. We had a fantastic time. The unit having some downsides did not detract from all of the positives. Jun 10, 2024 The room was facing the beautiful ocean and right next to the pool and the tiki bar. But it wasn’t noisy at all. The property had lots of stores and places to eat. It was a mid-point to go to the north and the south of the island and was very convenient. The neighboring walkways were connected with other properties that I could do 5-mile walk every morning. We enjoyed the property because it was more laid back than other prominent resort places. The tiki bar’s daily happy hour (3-6pm) was very nice and fun too. Kay Galligan

Apr 16, 2024 We were in Kapaa for a wedding and it was recommended to stay in this area. The location and unobstructed ocean view was great, however we were unimpressed by the outdated and lack of cleanliness in the condo. There was obvious dust, dirt, and moisture build up around the inside of the condo. The bathroom sink faucet needed to be fixed as we could not get it to stop dripping on our last night. I understand that many of the condos in the area are not updated, but little touches can go a long way in terms of ambiance — specifically, the towels and bedding were clearly old and worn. The bathroom amenities (bar soap, shampoo, conditioner) were off brand and tiny bottles that would not last more than one night — when we stayed 4 nights. Given the cost, I would expect more care and attention to detail. We did not enjoy spending more time than we had to at this place. Tasha Fitts

Nov 20, 2024 We had a great time!! The unit has a spectacular view of the ocean and pool area (as it's a corner room) and is within steps of the ocean and pool. It also has a live rooster alarm who crows at dawn making sure we see the sunrise (a must)!! He was late only one day (maybe his day off), but we won't hold that against the owner of the unit since another rooster took his place! :) The unit was very clean, and we had what we needed. Great location to explore the north and south sides of Kauai, close to restaurants, shopping, etc. The managing team was very responsive and we had no issues at all getting in. We started our stay with rain, but didn't mind since we had a great Mai Tai poolside until the rain ended. BTW, Mark (the bartender) makes amazing Mai Tai's - (only by Mark). That's a plus for the unit - since it's in a resort setting! Finally, very nice touch to have 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. Parking is free as well! We highly recommend this unit. Mahalo! Amazing view of the ocean and pool area. Beautifully landscaped grounds. So close to many restaurants and shops, all within a 2-3 minute walk. Perfect for exploring the entire island. The unit could use a little updating, but everything worked as it should. The provided beach chairs, cooler, and snorkel and mask were a nice surprise! I would absolutely stay again if I were ever fortunate enough to return to this beautiful island. David K

The hosts set us up with locally made chocolates (which were amazing!!) along with locally grown fruit. The area abound is bristling with activities and high-quality restaurants. The beach was so close and we loved that we had access to the pool as well. It was close to Coconut Marketplace, so we could walk to yummy restaurants, shopping, and of course, shaved ice! Dec 13, 2025 It exceeded my expectations. This place was a home run. I have friends who own a unit at Islander on the Beach and said it’s the best complex on the island. I don’t disagree. Ours was an end unit on the second of three floors, which proves to be ideal. We rarely heard noise from the pool, and we would leave our balcony door open at night to hear the crashing, yet peaceful, waves. We watched the sun rise every morning from our balcony, and soon afterwards took walks up and down the beach. Heaven. The location really is ideal: steps from Coconut Marketplace which had many affordable shops, restaurants, and a decent market. One day we drove to Princeville, and another to Waimea Canyon. The famed Fern Grotto is only minutes away, so this was a perfect location for us. Finally, the WiFi was especially good. Not that we needed it much in paradise! In sum, it was a great value, good for families and kids (and couples). It exceeded my expectations. Tim Ring

The microwave revolving plate was not the correct part so it clunked around when in operation. A few pieces of metal tableware would be appreciated. Centrally located with any place on the island within a 30-60 minute drive. Great walking path with shops and restaurants nearby. Unit had what we needed to warm food with a small refrigerator/freezer and dishes to use. We bought an ice tray to make ice but later discovered a complementary ice machine near the end of an adjacent unit. The unit is older and as some other reviews have said could use some upgrades but everything works fine. AC was very good at keeping the unit cool. Furniture was dated but had a traditional Hawaiian feel. Bed was comfortable. Very limited power outlets. I wish we had brought a small extension cord so that we would have had power near the bed to charge our phones and keep them nearby. But good not to be bombarded by messages in the middle of the night from the mainland. Overall this was a great place and we would stay here again. Richard Durham
