Had a great stay! House was big enough to give our party of 5+baby privacy when needed. Location was extremely quiet, and backyard and pool felt very private. Hosts were very responsive as well. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful house. A lot of room for our family to be together. Kitchen had everything ( everything!!) you would need to make meals. Pool / jacuzzi were clean. The house was beautiful. Enough parking for two cars. The three restroom were great to have. House was close to everything! My only complaint is we booked this placed on the room description listed not the pictures. That was a big disappointment as the room description listed is very inaccurate. The rooms do not have double queens or kings as in room description. Each room has one bed. Luckily there was two fold out ottoman that were not listed as places to sleep but I have one at home so I’m aware of its use. We had one person sleeping on the couch. Otherwise then that we enjoyed the stayed.

Great Place to Stay!

My friends and I spent 10 wonderful days in this beautiful beachfront home. Much of that time was spent on the lanai enjoying the spectacular ocean views, feeling the cool island breeze, playing in the pool, or relaxing in the hot tub. Although it is in a community setting, the layout and the landscaping make it feel very private. Each day, there are paddle boarders, kayaks, and sailboats going by. The inside of the home is also beautiful and roomy, with each bedroom having its own bathroom. There is a large kitchen for those who want to cook (and lots of fresh fish, fruit, nuts, and herbs in the area to cook with). The home is well located and very accessible to many activities in the area. There are lots of great places to eat that range from food trucks downtown to hillside, beach view restaurants. Our hosts were very gracious in answering our questions and providing us with suggestions on things to try and places to explore. I would highly recommend it as a place to stay for your next visit to the big island.

Holua Kai #20

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holua Kai #20 during Thanksgiving week. My family of three, along with my in-laws, totaling seven people, had more than enough room. The home had everything we could possibly need. The pool and spa were amazing to use, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing great meals. The sunsets from the backyard were stunning. There were grocery stores and restaurants just a short drive away. The management team was outstanding and responded quickly to every need. A couple of items weren’t functioning quite right, but they were remedied immediately. I would definitely book through Elite/Gather again when I need a rental home or villa in the 808!

Please note that 7 private tennis and 20 pickleball courts are available for guest use for an additional fee. Of those facilities, 5 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts have lights. Court Rentals are $25/hour per court for non-members. If you'd like to become a member of the Holua Kai community, the court rental fee will be waived. To book a private tennis or pickleball court, guests may call or text Holua Kai's shop phone, and let them know of the day and time you are planning to play. A member of Holua Kai's community team will let you know which court(s) are available.

Drop-in, Open Pickleball Play Schedule @ Holua Racquet and Paddle: Every drop in play is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members pay $10/person for each open play they join. For example, if you play in the 8 AM open play and pay $10/person, an additional $10/person for the afternoon play will apply. However, the Holua Kai community offers weekly, monthly, and more membership rates. If interested, please contact Holua Kai's shop for applicable rates.

Feb 20, 2024 Stayed here with 8 friends it was perfect! Great amount of space for 8 people. Beautiful home and amazing views. Pool and hot tub did not disappoint. Very easy communication with host. We all agreed we would stay here again if we are ever back on the Big Island! Jen Zielinski

Jun 01, 2024 the location of the house is great … ocean view and sunsets and the privacy of your own pool . However there were some amenities that were missing. No beach equipment or coolers. we requested some since a lot of rental provide it and they refused . Also there were no drapes installed in the main bedroom slider which let a tremendous amount of light in the morning. The property management was very responsive in convincing the owners to install since it was the second complaint . In addition no window covers at all in master bathroom . There was a minimum about of towels in every bathroom and some had no bath rugs. We had two cars and were required to park in the driveway yet there were serious mango branches hanging over half of it which made it difficult to get in and out of car . The lighting walking to and from the cars was non existent which the property management once again quickly responded to . In addition it said it had cable which it did not and once again management had to provide a work around . It just seems for the price that the owners would now accommodate the unit for renters instead of their own personal use . Sandra Gragg
