Nice unit with bonus second bedroom

The Honua Kai Resort is beautiful with nice pools and beach access. The grounds are pretty, but could use more lounge chairs (perhaps some have been removed for social distancing purposes?). It is nice to have the underground parking, but a bit confusing to know where to go to be near the best elevator for your unit. We lucked out and guessed properly! Unit K206 has a nice garden/mountain view, with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean from the balcony. The owners have collected a lot of beach items for renters' use. The beds were comfortable, but some of the furnishings are starting to show signs of their age. The owners provided a nice binder with info about the unit and the property, as well as local restaurants, etc. The unit has a stackable Bosch washer and dryer (standard for the Honua Kai), which were convenient to have, but only hold a small amount of clothes and/or towels. The standard wash time was about an hour, so we started using a 30-minute quick-wash setting. The dryer time was long - one load with two bath towels, 2-3 hand towels and a couple washcloths took about 90 minutes to dry (and still felt slightly damp when we folded them). One suggestion I have for the binder would be to explain that the ceiling fans are controlled with a dimmer light switch. It took us a few hours to figure that out. We had a slight issue with the AC while there. We texted the property manager, Monty, and he was very attentive to get building maintenance to come to the unit and resolve the issue. The building maintenance person was very efficient. Came in, figured out the issue. Returned a few minutes later with a cart with the necessary tools and within about 7-8 minutes vacuumed out built-up condensation and the problem was resolved. Communication with the owners and property manager prior to our arrival was smooth and easy. They responded quickly to our questions. Overall, unit K206 was a great choice for us.

Wake up with a view!

Loved the location of this unit at Honua Kai. I've stayed at this condo location before but this was perfect. It had a fantastic view and super sheltered from the wind. The unit was spacious, clean, and well stocked. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Honua Kai 206 - lovely stay

We were fortunate to be able to stay at Honua Kai recently and really enjoyed everything. There is a lot of room to spread out, kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook in, washer and dryer, beds were comfortable and a fabulous tub!! It really is a fantastic property. Jill and Monty were great. The only thing that was a bummer was the construction going on. While there is nothing that could be done and was far out of the owners control, it would have been nice to have been aware of the construction as it may have changed our decision on where to stay. It didn’t bother me so much but it did bother my husband.

A perfect get away for a family of four with the grandparents!

We loved Konea Room 206! We do not want to leave! Jill the new owner of the place was really helpful and kept in contact with me through all the details of checking in and checking out of the room. Review of the Room: The room had everything we needed, we were able to cook our meals if we wanted, the beds were comfortable and the linens, towels and furniture were clean. Each room had its own tv. Also the room had booster seat for the my 2 yo, pack and play, tommy Bahamas beach chairs, beach umbrella, sand toys and boogie boards! The room is also a quick walking distance to the pools and beach. Review of the Resort The Resort is also amazing! There were multiple pools for the kids and adults! We loved the water slide and the toddler pool. The gym was really cool so many equipment you need to get a good workout. Also the beach is a quick walking distance and can watch beautiful sunsets! The Location The place is about 40 min drive from Kahului Airport but the drive is beautiful and goes by fast. There is a Time Supermarket across the street to buy the food you need to cook or drive down about 5 minutes to Whalers Village for good shopping and restaurants, also Old Lahaina is 10 minute drive as well for shopping and local eats! Oh one more thing there is Duke’s Restaurant on the property :) My husband and I can’t stop raving about the place and would love to come back again!

Sep 24, 2024 Great place to stay in Kaanapali I highly recommend staying at this property. The property managers were kind and attentive, they made our stay very convenient and pleasant. The condo was very clean and had every amenity we could ask for, including everything necessary to make my 18 month old son very comfortable and happy (high chair, sleeping cot and even a stroller). Thr property is conveniently located on a resort with many amazing and beautiful pools, a great restaurant and beachfront access that is breathtaking. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Sep 24, 2024 Amazing stay at Honua Kai with Hawaii Life I had an amazing stay at Honua Kai with Hawaii Life! The check-in process was incredibly smooth, and communication with the host was fantastic both before and during my stay. The condo was spotless, with stylish decor that made it feel like a true home away from home. The condo had all of the amenities for us to cook with, and the wagon and beach chairs were an added bonus for the beach. Really nice touch with the thoughtful welcome gifts in the Condo when we arrived. The resort itself was fantastic, offering multiple pools to choose from, and the beach was absolutely stunning—its steps from the pools. Lots of beach towels available using the towel system in the resort, great sunsets with some live music from Duke’s. There is an Safeway about 10 mins away that had everything we needed for groceries. Overall, a perfect vacation spot that I would love to visit again. Highly recommended! Nathalie and Shamir A.

We used the wagon, chairs and cooler almost daily down at the beach. The pools and slide were a hit with my boys. The beds were comfortable and the AC works great. Sep 24, 2024 Wonderfully Perfect We loved our stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful, we loved being able to use all the pools, workout room and access to the beach. The condo was beautifully decorated, a quick elevator ride and walk to the pool or beach, cozy beds and plenty of room to rejuvenate for another day. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lani as well as breakfast and lunch. Our family of 5 with 3 teens, two being girls especially liked the large bathroom and were able to make only having one work just fine. The wagon, chairs and beach toys were a wonderful addition! Extras like umbrellas, ice chest, chairs, sand toys, pack n play and high chair were excellent additions! All communication was prompt even on weekends. Sep 24, 2024 Loved it! My family (three adults and one 7 y/o), stayed at this condo for about a week, and we could not have been happier! It was very clean, and they provided ample stock of supplies. Beds were comfortable and the unit was quiet. The in-unit laundry was a must for us and very convenient. We used the kitchen often and it had all the utensils, pans, etc that we needed. We often ate on the balcony looking out at the well-maintained grounds and rainbows that would appear frequently toward the mountains. It is a quick walk to the pool(s), Duke's Restaurant (on property), and the beach. We used the provided beach chairs, umbrella, and wagon to haul our stuff nearly every day. The community BBQs near the pool are well maintained by the property staff. There is pretty good snorkeling at the beach nearby. We saw an array of beautiful fish, and even an occasional turtle. Black Rock and other well known snorkeling spots are not far away either. Parking is underground in the same building, and once we found the right elevator, was also easy and convenient. The property management was very responsive when we alerted them to a broken item--even promptly bringing over a replacement. It's always a little nerve wracking for me to choose a place to stay, especially for a week or more, but we had no regrets on this property choice once we saw it and experienced it for ourselves. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies to easily cook meals. The bathroom was also very nice. Lastly, we really appreciate that the room came with beach/pool supplies for us to use. Sep 24, 2024 Fantastic Maui Vacation Rental The condo is spacious, clean and very comfortable. It was perfect for our group of 7 adults. The unit is nicely equipped with everything you need and there are amazing views of the ocean and sunset every night right off the large, private balcony. It's in a great location that is walking distance to food trucks, a grocery store and snorkeling and paddleboard rentals. The onsite restaurant (Duke's) is very good also. We had an additional bag of opened half eaten food items that we did not want to waste and asked where we could put other than garbage and they very graciously and happily accepted for themselves and "the guys" Rhiannon C.
Sep 24, 2024 Beautiful Oceanfront Stay This condo is gorgeous inside and out. Nicely equipped with everything you need and stunning views of the ocean and sunset every night right off the balcony. Location is excellent too as you’re close to Whaler’s Village, a major grocery store (within walking distance), activity rentals, the food trucks and many restaurants. If you’re into working out, the gym is awesome as well. The only disappointment was the lazy river was not working the week we were there. Other than that, we had a great trip (family of six adults) and will stay here every time we come to Maui. Mahalo! Annette H.

Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler bags to borrow. Our check in process was very easy. We loved the Konea tower location with the General Store, spa and gym just downstairs. Sep 24, 2024 Good all around for us This was our first time visiting Maui and this place was perfect for our family of four. The property managers were very responsive, the resort was perfect for when we wanted to hang around the condo (the pools are great and part of why we booked at this location, my son loved the water slide,) and getting to places on the island from here was easy. I would stay here again anytime and recommend it to others. It was so nice to prepare our own meals and save some money to use elsewhere. The only thing I found slightly bothersome (and I mean slightly) is that there are only 4 plates. We had to wash them after every meal, so we had them for the next one as opposed to getting to use the dishwasher and if we were a family of more than 4 we’d be out of luck (listing says it sleeps 6, so…) The beach near the property had turtles we went to watch every evening, there’s a boardwalk that was great for my morning runs and when I didn’t do that I was able to use the fitness room, and parking was really easy. The unit itself has comfortable beds, couches and chairs, and a great lanai. Even though there are people in units above, below and on either side, we didn’t hear them more than if we were in a detached home. J D.

The rooms were great, the kitchen had all the amenities you’d want, and the living space was fantastic. We liked the upper floor view as we could see wide portions of the ocean to whale watch. There were chairs and umbrellas and cooler which made the short trip to the beach easy and comfortable. The location is great as food trucks are an easy stroll, Dukes is onsite, and the snorkeling right in front of the resort is perfect. Our group had 3 married couples and we had plenty of space. Sep 24, 2024 Everything about this rental was a 5 star! The location of the condo was perfect! Great views of the mountains and sunrise in the morning from the patio. The condo was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We used the pull out sleeper for 2 of the kids and it was perfect. We had a couple of questions which were answered immediately by the host. The condo is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and coolers to make your beach experience perfect. Check in and check out went extremely smooth. Check out the short walk to the food trucks for dinner, lemonade, or ice cream dessert. This was a nightly activity for the kids! This rental checks off all of the things from the location, to the amenities of the resort, to the fantastic snorkeling just down the beach. You won’t be disappointed with this rental! Kase R.
Sep 24, 2024 Terrible Experience We have been staying at this property ever year for years now but when Hawaii Life Vacations took over everything turned into a nightmare. From the start we had issues in the room and the contat we were assigned to disappeared. The curtains in the room were broken (and disgustingly dirty) and dryer door was broken and wouldnt stay shut, and the new furniture was so top heavy that when you opened a drawer the whole thing would fall. my 7 year old was injured from a huge dresser falling on him and when I reported it, I heard NOTHING back. Now they are holding our deposit with no explanation and its been almost 2 weeks since checkout. We left that place in great condition. We were hoping to come back next year but sadly wont if this property manager is still overseeing this unit. Katie B.

Sep 24, 2024 One Week in Paradise We have had the good fortune to have been able to stay at Honua Kai several times. HK825 is an absolutely perfect unit. The view of the ocean, Lanai, and Molokai, are spectacular, especially at sunset. The condo has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Three huge bedrooms and bathrooms leave enough room for a large family, or three separate couples. The resort has a restaurant on premises and there is also a large market in the building if you need to pick up odds and ends. Honua Kai is truly a wonderful place to stay. Julie B.
Sep 24, 2024 Beautiful unit and resort Everything was incredible except for the check in process. The host asked for my arrival time which was 11 am and didn’t say anything after that so I was under assumption we could check in shortly after our arrival and that was not the case. We could not check in until 3 pm so we asked if we could use the pools while waiting and the concierge said no. Didn’t seem like they even checked guests using the pools so felt it was rude to tell us no. Anyways a firm check in of 3 pm could have been addressed way before day of arrival. My family of 6 adults had plenty of room and our view was breathtaking. We were so fortunate to have great weather all week.. so enjoyed the beach chairs, toys, snorkel equipment. The owners had everything you could need to make our stay even better - blenders, wine fridge, beach chairs, cooler, etc etc. The views from the lanai were breathtaking. Sitting on the lanai early in the morning or late at night listening to waves crash was so relaxing and exactly what I wanted from an oceanfront condo. The property itself had a great pool and easy beach access. Everything was within reasonable driving distance. We loved our stay and will definitely be back soon! Jordyn H.

Many upgrades in the kitchen, including the "extras", like an extra coffee maker, a Vita-mixer, even little kiddo dishes. Sep 24, 2024 Best Vacation Ever...Period! This was, by far, the best condo/hotel/resort/etc., that I’ve ever had the pleasure of renting. Very spacious (3 BR/3BA), gourmet kitchen, every amenity you could ever want with the most spectacular view of the bluest waters you’ve ever seen! The cafe in the lobby was great and very reasonably price. Duke’s was convenient for any meal and drinks by the pool. All in all, a perfect vacation spot. We woke up to sit on the balcony with coffee in hand to whale watch each morning. Megan was easy to work with and was so helpful to provide a high chair and pack n play for our family. They provide all the beach necessities (chairs, towels, toys, coolers, umbrella) which was immensely convenient. I’ve already recommended this condo to friends and will absolutely stay here again!! Sep 24, 2024 Great stay at Honua Kai Hokulani 825 Our group of 8 stayed at this amazing 3BR place for 9 nights. It was in a great location, with most everything just a short walk or short drive away. Free valet parking was a plus! The hotel pool was perfect for my 2 toddlers who are learning how to swim. The room was very clean and welcoming, with all the amenities you need, including beach/pool toys. They even provided us with a high chair and a Pack 'n Play already set up! The lanai view is great with an unobstructed view of the sunrise/sunset. The room is close to the elevator, but we heard no hallway noise at all. The management company was available at any time, even when I contacted her on the weekend! This is our 2nd time at Honua Kai, and would definitely come back yet again. Jake L.

The condo itself was beautifully appointed with super comfortable beds and linens! We found everything we needed to have a magical vacation in Maui. The view from 825 is simply stunning and one of our favorite parts to our experience was being able to open the doors to the lanai (ac automatically goes off) and feel the balmy breezes. We found everything at the property super clean, well maintained, warm & friendly staff and an awesome coffee/cafe/store right downstairs. There is really nothing I could think of to change to improve our experience. Meghan was incredibly helpful and helped us plan for our vacation prior to arrival as well as super accommodating once we arrived. We will definitely be back!!! Tammy L.

The resort itself is beautiful and lush, and there are so many pools to choose from. Being right on the beach with Duke’s on the property were huge pluses as well. The coffee at the market was delicious too! The condo itself was clean and had everything needed for a fun family stay. A lovely peekaboo ocean view was the cherry on top. We’ll definitely be back! The location was fabulous, we never heard our neighbors and definitely had some (we saw them on their lanai). Very well stocked with kitchen gadgets for cooking or eating in room. The property overall was beautiful, the pools and beach were spectacular. Dukes was delish, the whalers store downstairs was so nice to have for random things we forgot! We really enjoyed our stay at this unit and the property manager was very responsive, provided great food recommendations and other tips to make the stay great. The overall property (Honua Kai) was fantastic as well. Very central location in west Maui, 10 min drive to either Lahaina or Kapalua, and nice beach options within a few minutes walk of the unit. Couple food options on property (or right next door) plus the evening food trucks just north of the property (walking distance) provided a lot of different food options for us which was great. There were also two "general store" type places on the property with one of them having maybe the best iced coffee i've ever had! The only thing that would have made the stay better is housekeeping. I was not aware that housekeeping needed to be set-up weeks/months in advance. There is a garbage chute down the hall from the condo but it would have been nice to have housekeeping while we were there vacationing. The condo was very clean and had every amenity we could ask for, including everything necessary to make my 18 month old son very comfortable and happy (high chair, sleeping cot and even a stroller). The condo was beautifully decorated, a quick elevator ride and walk to the pool or beach, cozy beds and plenty of room to rejuvenate for another day. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lani as well as breakfast and lunch. Our family of 5 with 3 teens, two being girls especially liked the large bathroom and were able to make only having one work just fine. The wagon, chairs and beach toys were a wonderful addition! Jun 12, 2024 Location is great but won't stay at this specific one again The resort itself was very nice but we had some issues with the apartment. The AC didn't work very well so it was difficult to sleep at night. Another frustrating thing was the rules said not to bring sand into the apartment or you lose your deposit (which is a significant amount of money). This was almost impossible to do since you're living close to the beach and we had little kids. So no matter how much or often we rinsed off before entering the apt, there was still sand in there. So we spent a lot of time sweeping the apt which was annoying considering it was a vacation. I also reached out to the management for a recommendation for dinner reservations and nobody got back to me. Audrey F.

Jul 21, 2023 Good all around for us This was our first time visiting Maui and this place was perfect for our family of four. The property managers were very responsive, the resort was perfect for when we wanted to hang around the condo (the pools are great and part of why we booked at this location, my son loved the water slide,) and getting to places on the island from here was easy. I would stay here again anytime and recommend it to others. It was so nice to prepare our own meals and save some money to use elsewhere. The only thing I found slightly bothersome (and I mean slightly) is that there are only 4 plates. We had to wash them after every meal, so we had them for the next one as opposed to getting to use the dishwasher and if we were a family of more than 4 we’d be out of luck (listing says it sleeps 6, so…) The beach near the property had turtles we went to watch every evening, there’s a boardwalk that was great for my morning runs and when I didn’t do that I was able to use the fitness room, and parking was really easy. The unit itself has comfortable beds, couches and chairs, and a great lanai. Even though there are people in units above, below and on either side, we didn’t hear them more than if we were in a detached home. J D.

The rooms were great, the kitchen had all the amenities you’d want, and the living space was fantastic. We liked the upper floor view as we could see wide portions of the ocean to whale watch. There were chairs and umbrellas and cooler which made the short trip to the beach easy and comfortable. The location is great as food trucks are an easy stroll, Dukes is onsite, and the snorkeling right in front of the resort is perfect. Our group had 3 married couples and we had plenty of space. Mar 17, 2023 Everything about this rental was a 5 star! The location of the condo was perfect! Great views of the mountains and sunrise in the morning from the patio. The condo was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We used the pull out sleeper for 2 of the kids and it was perfect. We had a couple of questions which were answered immediately by the host. The condo is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and coolers to make your beach experience perfect. Check in and check out went extremely smooth. Check out the short walk to the food trucks for dinner, lemonade, or ice cream dessert. This was a nightly activity for the kids! This rental checks off all of the things from the location, to the amenities of the resort, to the fantastic snorkeling just down the beach. You won’t be disappointed with this rental! Kase R.

From the start we had issues in the room and the contat we were assigned to disappeared. The curtains in the room were broken (and disgustingly dirty) and dryer door was broken and wouldnt stay shut, and the new furniture was so top heavy that when you opened a drawer the whole thing would fall. my 7 year old was injured from a huge dresser falling on him and when I reported it, I heard NOTHING back. Now they are holding our deposit with no explanation and its been almost 2 weeks since checkout. We left that place in great condition. We were hoping to come back next year but sadly wont if this property manager is still overseeing this unit. Katie B.

Nov 27, 2022 Never stay in this unit. This unit was advertised as being remodeled with a wonderful view. The fact of the matter is it was not remodeled, the fold-out couch was broken and had to be replaced the way we were here. The view is horrible. The communication both at check-in and trying to deal with the problem was horrible. I rented three other units for the same week, and there was no problem. I would never use this unit or recommend anybody to do so. I tried to work with the property manager to get the matter resolved as to a credit, and what they offered was laughable. Nov 03, 2022 One Week in Paradise We have had the good fortune to have been able to stay at Honua Kai several times. HK825 is an absolutely perfect unit. The view of the ocean, Lanai, and Molokai, are spectacular, especially at sunset. The condo has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Three huge bedrooms and bathrooms leave enough room for a large family, or three separate couples. The resort has a restaurant on premises and there is also a large market in the building if you need to pick up odds and ends. Honua Kai is truly a wonderful place to stay. Julie B.

The host asked for my arrival time which was 11 am and didn’t say anything after that so I was under assumption we could check in shortly after our arrival and that was not the case. We could not check in until 3 pm so we asked if we could use the pools while waiting and the concierge said no. Didn’t seem like they even checked guests using the pools so felt it was rude to tell us no. Anyways a firm check in of 3 pm could have been addressed way before day of arrival. The owners had everything you could need to make our stay even better - blenders, wine fridge, beach chairs, cooler, etc etc. The views from the lanai were breathtaking. Sitting on the lanai early in the morning or late at night listening to waves crash was so relaxing and exactly what I wanted from an oceanfront condo. The property itself had a great pool and easy beach access. Everything was within reasonable driving distance. We loved our stay and will definitely be back soon! Jordyn H.

Many upgrades in the kitchen, including the "extras", like an extra coffee maker, a Vita-mixer, even little kiddo dishes. It was in a great location, with most everything just a short walk or short drive away. Free valet parking was a plus! The hotel pool was perfect for my 2 toddlers who are learning how to swim. The room was very clean and welcoming, with all the amenities you need, including beach/pool toys. They even provided us with a high chair and a Pack 'n Play already set up! The lanai view is great with an unobstructed view of the sunrise/sunset. The room is close to the elevator, but we heard no hallway noise at all. The management company was available at any time, even when I contacted her on the weekend! This is our 2nd time at Honua Kai, and would definitely come back yet again. Jake L.

May 08, 2022 Perfect Family Beach Vacation Our family loved staying here! We have 4 year old twins and it was the perfect spot for a beach vacation. The resort itself is beautiful and lush, and there are so many pools to choose from. Being right on the beach with Duke’s on the property were huge pluses as well. The coffee at the market was delicious too! The condo itself was clean and had everything needed for a fun family stay. A lovely peekaboo ocean view was the cherry on top. We’ll definitely be back! The location was fabulous, we never heard our neighbors and definitely had some (we saw them on their lanai). Very well stocked with kitchen gadgets for cooking or eating in room. The property overall was beautiful, the pools and beach were spectacular. Dukes was delish, the whalers store downstairs was so nice to have for random things we forgot! We really enjoyed our stay at this unit and the property manager was very responsive, provided great food recommendations and other tips to make the stay great. The overall property (Honua Kai) was fantastic as well. Very central location in west Maui, 10 min drive to either Lahaina or Kapalua, and nice beach options within a few minutes walk of the unit. Couple food options on property (or right next door) plus the evening food trucks just north of the property (walking distance) provided a lot of different food options for us which was great. There were also two "general store" type places on the property with one of them having maybe the best iced coffee i've ever had! Feb 16, 2022 Maui Paradise Our group enjoyed this condo. The location was great. The view was amazing. The condo was clean. Dukes is on the property so we had convenient dining. The only thing that would have made the stay better is housekeeping. I was not aware that housekeeping needed to be set-up weeks/months in advance. There is a garbage chute down the hall from the condo but it would have been nice to have housekeeping while we were there vacationing. Dec 23, 2021 Amazing unit in on an amazing property The unit was clean, spacious and modern. It had everything we needed down to beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler and beach toys. The availability of beach towels via the kiosks was fantastic. Location was central to everything we wanted to do. Swimming, snorkeling and body surfing off the property was really good. The pools were great and finding chairs wasn’t too much of a problem. Food at Dukes was great. Food trucks next door were great when we wanted to just grab food and eat in. Susie E.

Dec 14, 2021 Beautiful Ocean Front View The photos of this beautiful Hawaiian home doesn’t do it justice. Sitting on the lanai with the ocean views instantly puts you in a vacation mindset. There was plenty of space with the 3 bedrooms for our family and the air mattress was more comfortable than the pull out couch. The beds were so comfortable!!!! The well stocked kitchen made it very easy to cook meals and we appreciated the kids utensils/plates/cups. Our little girls loved the multiple pools but the water slide was their favorite. We really appreciated the boogie boards, beach toys and chairs/umbrellas. Kids loved the access to the pool and beach. From the cleanliness to the ease of check-in and check-out, we were impressed. We enjoyed our coffee every morning on the lanai, with the unparalleled view of the ocean and the whales gliding past. The beach is beautiful with amazing snorkeling right in front of the resort. We rented snorkeling gear for the week, so we could explore the reef anytime we wanted: sea turtles, colorful fish, coral...all beautiful and right there! We hope to return again soon! Nov 13, 2021 Nice unit with bonus second bedroom The Honua Kai Resort is beautiful with nice pools and beach access. The grounds are pretty, but could use more lounge chairs (perhaps some have been removed for social distancing purposes?). It is nice to have the underground parking, but a bit confusing to know where to go to be near the best elevator for your unit. We lucked out and guessed properly! Unit K206 has a nice garden/mountain view, with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean from the balcony. The owners have collected a lot of beach items for renters' use. The beds were comfortable, but some of the furnishings are starting to show signs of their age. The owners provided a nice binder with info about the unit and the property, as well as local restaurants, etc. The unit has a stackable Bosch washer and dryer (standard for the Honua Kai), which were convenient to have, but only hold a small amount of clothes and/or towels. The standard wash time was about an hour, so we started using a 30-minute quick-wash setting. The dryer time was long - one load with two bath towels, 2-3 hand towels and a couple washcloths took about 90 minutes to dry (and still felt slightly damp when we folded them). One suggestion I have for the binder would be to explain that the ceiling fans are controlled with a dimmer light switch. It took us a few hours to figure that out. We had a slight issue with the AC while there. We texted the property manager, Monty, and he was very attentive to get building maintenance to come to the unit and resolve the issue. The building maintenance person was very efficient. Came in, figured out the issue. Returned a few minutes later with a cart with the necessary tools and within about 7-8 minutes vacuumed out built-up condensation and the problem was resolved. Communication with the owners and property manager prior to our arrival was smooth and easy. They responded quickly to our questions. Overall, unit K206 was a great choice for us. Terry O.

Nov 04, 2021 Perfection! We had the most amazing time in Maui and much of it was due to this condo! With little kids, we loved the convenience of the 2 bedrooms and kitchen but the property also has the benefits of a resort: we loved Dukes being right there (they were also offering poolside service while we were there), the beach was beautiful and our kids had the best time in the pools! The unit was clean and lovely and we spent a lot of time enjoying the lanai (we had breakfast out there most mornings but do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Slappycakes at least once). No problems with parking or anything else -- it was a wonderful home base for exploring the island’s beauty! Stephanie S.

We loved all the doors that opened to the outside, large patio, enjoyed the ocean view and felt so comfortable in the unit. The resort is very nice. We loved how beautiful it was, easiness to walk to the beaches, and having Dukes on site was the BEST! The walk to Whaler's Village is a bit far, but we did it multiple times. We didn't love the pools, but still enjoyed our time there. Pools are a bit small so chairs are very limited. Overall the experience was fantastic. Owners were very kind and so helpful and check in/check out is so easy. I highly recommend not only this property but this specific unit. It's all outstanding. Amy D.

The bathroom was spacious, with two sinks; master bedroom was nicely appointed as was the 2nd bedroom. It was extremely clean. Beds, kitchen, internet, A/C all worked fine. Prop manager, Monty, was available by text when we needed him. Jill and Garreth kindly responded to all my emails and concerned for our car rental and restaurant needs. Rental agents were responsive but can’t give 5 stars due to poorly equipped and disorganized kitchen. Found it very frustrating to try to prepare meals. Aug 06, 2021 Summer.in Maui! We had a great experience staying in Konea 206 with our family of 5. Plenty of space and great location. It was easy to get up and down to the pool area. The balcony doors slide all the way open and it's beautiful to sit outside and soak up the beautiful mountain and rainbow views. Having the wristbands as our room keys and with the ability to use the towel system was excellent! Exchanging towels was easy and we didn't have to wash them. The Whaler's Store located in the lobby was so convenient. We went down there every day to get drinks and snacks for the kids for our excursions. We were also within walking distance to the Myths of Maui Luau, which was a fun way to spend our last evening on the island. Evi-Lynn B.

That was perfect as we all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The views are amazing. The beach is perfect out front and the pools are fabulous as well!! They provided plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, beach bags, and sand toys for the kids. That was a huge plus so we didn’t have to pack it all on a flight!!! The one and only downside was the dryer... it never wanted to work properly and I never got a response when messaging the host about it. Mallori W.

May 22, 2021 Phenomenal Unit! Excellent property with all the right views! This unit is everything you could ever need for your family of 5 or more! The pics are great but it’s even better in person. The property has a restaurant, DUKES, that’s beachfront with something for everyone on their menu. We definitely used the kitchen, could’ve used a grill on the spectacular balcony but they do have grills by the pool to use. The fridge gets cool but not cold maybe it needs a recharge? Just toss your beers in the freezer you’ll be ok. Due to Covid the ice machines we’re shut down, bought 1 gallon bags at the gift shop to fill the cooler. Loved that there were coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach equipment provided in this unit. All in all, we loved it so much we are already planning to return! Apr 30, 2021 Absolutely Wonderful In a nutshell, the unit and property were incredibly beautiful and well taken care of. The location was perfect and a short drive from everything we had planned in Lahaina. This is a unit we will be returning to our next trip to Maui. We arrived late at night which meant we had to check in with Security. They were all very nice and helped us to our room with our bags/groceries. They told us there might be a problem with parking in the underground garage, but we never had an issue finding a spot. Monty checked in with us first thing in the morning to make sure everything went smoothly and was very helpful with anything we needed. I was most impressed with all the amenities Gareth and Jill provided - they thought of everything! The condo was completely stocked and the "beach closet" was awesome. The chairs, pool noodles, boogie boards, beach toys were great. The kiddos were so excited when they opened that door and saw what was inside. It may have been midnight but they wanted to take all the toys to the beach right at that moment! The property as a whole was great also. We loved that there was a grocery store across the street and two small stores on the property. Duke's was amazing and a wonderful spot to watch the sunset (and the kitties). There was only one downside but it was absolutely no one's fault: It seemed some of the lounge chairs at the pools had been removed which made getting a spot after 8am extremely difficult, so I suggest arriving earlier than that. Fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, etc. The only negative was the pool towel situation which I'm guessing is out of the owners control. As a VRBO guest, you are not allowed use of the guest pool towel service. You must bring the ones provided in the room and bring them back and forth. This meant daily laundry for us, but it's not a deal breaker. Everything else was wonderful and we hope to stay at this property again in the future. Kristine M.
Apr 11, 2021 Fabulous Vacation We spent a little over a week in Maui and had an excellent time. Jill and Monty were both great to work with and our checkin process was seamless. I was a little reluctant about the bracelets but we ended up loving them since they gave us access to our room and the towel kiosks. No looking for your room key and everyone had access all the time. The condo was fully stocked and clean. The extra den was perfect for our family, which allowed for our kids to each have their own beds (14 and 12). We enjoyed the use of the beach chairs and body boards. Overall we had a great experience. The property grounds are nice and it was nice having Dukes on site; however, the property was overwhelmed with guests during our stay making it very difficult to find a spot at the pool or get in for dinner at Dukes. Book reservations prior to arrival or expect a 2 hr wait for dinner. There was a great pizza place right behind the resort that we went to when we wanted something quick. This place to our absolute surprise was affordable and in a perfect spot! Everything was really clean and open for us to enjoy the views and the island breeze. The owner fully stocks the unit with everything you could think of and more! She is truly an awesome person and made sure we had everything we need. We are a family of 6 and still had plenty of room and unused beds, This place is an absolute must! It wouldn’t surprise me if this place booked for the next many years so book now while you can! Mar 23, 2021 Great vacation rental This is a great value for your $$ in a building where most properties are 2x more expensive. We were okay with it only having one bathroom (it's an extra large one) because we're a family - but if you are staying with another couple that may pose an issue. The location is wonderful - a very quick walk to the beach and Duke's (where we ate breakfast and sometimes lunch by the pool). The rental had so many great amenities - sand toys, chairs, a cooler, a fan, pool noodles, all of which came in super handy for us. Also, we utilized the washer and dryer every day, so that was a must and a great amenity! This has nothing to do with the rental, but we had a really tough time finding adequate parking - even though the building has a large parking garage. We found that numerous SUVs would take two spaces, and we were actually turned away at one point because it was FULL. This seemed crazy to us, as most groups only rent a single vehicle, but we visited during Spring Break. It wouldn't be our ideal time to visit Maui - the weather was a bit rough - it rained five out of seven days and the wind was crazy. One day our Duke's poolside ended up all over us! But that's to be expected in March. We attended a wedding, so we didn't get to choose the week, but I would come in a quieter time next time, just so we could enjoy the pool and actually get into local restaurants (2 hour waits due to covid). One other thing - the pool did not have adequate lounges at the pool - there were people sprawled out on the grass and concrete (us included). The pool definitely is at capacity, but they obviously removed some of the lounge chairs to accommodate some social distancing. Again, this has nothing to do with the rental, but something to take note of if you are vacationing during a busy time. Get there right when the pool opens - or 15 min before! :-) We love this condo and would definitely consider it again in the future when we return to Maui! Rachel H.

We were there during Covid so my only complaint is the pool chairs were gone most days but Jill provided beach chairs so we just brought those down most days. Parking can also be hard to find in the garages at night. The beach has rock and coral making it hard to swim but still doable. Swimmable beaches nearby as well. The pool is very kid friendly but also has an adult area/feel as well. So many pools and hot tubs. We will definitely stay here again. Katie B.
Feb 22, 2021 Loved our stay The condo is perfect for a family with young children. My kids absolutely loved the water slide in the pool. We enjoyed snorkeling right from the condo. The lanai is lovely. Really nice to have the beach/pool towel exchange system so you don’t have to worry about trying to dry your towels just drop off the wet/sandy ones at the kiosk and get new ones for the next day. Mar 07, 2020 Budget friendly place at our favorite condo location on Maui Honua Kai gives you the best mix of location, price and amenities on the island. Has all the perks of incredible pools and other things you would get at a fancy hotel, but you get a kitchen and more space than at a hotel. Communication was great and the place was as advertised. Bed was one of the better ones I have slept on at a vrbo. As long as you know the price reflects what you get you'll be happy. We have stayed a few other times at honua kai in much nicer condos with incredible ocean views, but you definitely pay a lot more for one of those. Only real down sides of this place is only one bathroom and basically no ocean view. Would return if we come back with another couple that is more budget conscious. ross h.
Mar 04, 2020 Hawai’i Luxury This property was as pictured, clean and had a fabulous view. We loved the living room doors that opened onto the balcony. The 3 bedrooms were perfect for the 6 of us. The third bedroom could be two twin beds or a king - we used the twin beds for our kids. We had already stayed at two other properties prior to this one. Some extras I liked was a trash repository on our floor, the provided towels, ice chests, umbrellas and chairs, watching the whales from our balcony, also the pools were warmer than the other resorts (February visit). Feb 10, 2020 Wonderful Property! We could not have asked for a better property for our family of three. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. Monty, the onsite manager, was very easy to get in touch with if needed. Honua Kai is a family-oriented resort with a lazy river, shallow pool areas for young children, a water slide, multiple hot tubs, and plenty of large pools. Duke's restaurant is on site as well, which was convenient. There are waiters/waitresses around the pools to take orders if you'd like. We stayed in February and the beach was a bit rough for swimming, but still provided good entertainment for our four year old. Our 10 and 13 year old niece and nephew stayed during the same time as us and enjoyed the resort and beach equally as well as our young son. We would either drive or Uber into Lahaina, which was about a 10 minute ride. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to book this unit again in the future. Brittney B.
Feb 06, 2020 Beautiful Stay on the Beach We could not be happier with our stay! The unit was exactly as described. The views were AMAZING! We were lucky to see whales from the balcony EVERYDAY of our stay. The rooms were spotless and we had plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 2 children to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. We cooked a few meals in the unit and used the BBQs on the property. Pools were awesome and beach was just steps away - beach toys in the unit were a big hit! And we were close to everything that we needed. Bell people and valets were great in helping with check in and delivering groceries to our room. All questions were answered quickly via text. Overall a wonderful trip to Maui. Jan 15, 2020 Family of 5 Perfection Perfect property for our family of mom, dad and three teenagers. Beach closet was well stocked with chairs, towels, bags, umbrella and toys. Plenty of towels for the bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast each morning. Check in was a breeze at the valet stand and the condo was clean and well maintained. The TVs are smart so you can access your Netflix and Amazon prime accounts to watch shows. The WiFi worked great. The view is amazing and we hope to be back next year. Steven B.

Dec 08, 2019 Stay December 2019 Jill was great and sent suggestions for things to do while we stayed. We booked the holiday train because of this and it was great. The condo and area are beautiful. The pools were great and were not overcrowded. The towel service was awesome and it was easy to just pick up and drop off towels when you were done with them. We walked through the front door, after the easiest check in EVER, and were completely blown away by the beauty of the condo, and the incredible view from the lanai. Everything about this reservation, working with Jeremy and Megan, the attention to detail of the unit itself, the cleanliness and well appointed decor, access to the property and the amenities was spot on perfect. Aug 15, 2019 Amazing Condo This was one of the best condos I have stayed in on my beach vacations. Beautifully decorated, amazing view (which matches the picture on line), excellent accessorirs like chairs and towels, excellent location to many restaurants and shopping nearby. Fantastic pool but beach is alittle lacking. However the beach at South Kaanapali is nearby and is a beautiful beach. Duke's restaurant is located on the premises, and they have a nice little grocery store in tbe condo complex for food and alcohol. Highly recommend this condo and I would stay here again. Lisa R.

The room was very clean and welcoming, with all the amenities you need, including beach/pool toys. They even provided us with a high chair and a Pack 'n Play already set up! The lanai view is great with an unobstructed view of the sunrise/sunset. The room is close to the elevator, but we heard no hallway noise at all. Nov 17, 2018 Honua Kai 206 - lovely stay We were fortunate to be able to stay at Honua Kai recently and really enjoyed everything. There is a lot of room to spread out, kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook in, washer and dryer, beds were comfortable and a fabulous tub!! It really is a fantastic property. Jill and Monty were great. The only thing that was a bummer was the construction going on. While there is nothing that could be done and was far out of the owners control, it would have been nice to have been aware of the construction as it may have changed our decision on where to stay. Oct 18, 2018 Wonderful experience at Honua Kai We recently stayed 10 nights at Konea 206 and were so happy with the experience. My husband and I travelled with our three year old daughter. The condo was spacious and comfortable. The beach gear and umbrella stroller really came in handy. The property was great and the pools were beautiful. The beach right outside the resort was wonderful for snorkeling. Duke's restaurant, while a bit pricey, had great dinner options. The resort is close to so many beaches and locations to visit within a short drive. Jill was very quick to respond to emails and answered all our questions. Sep 24, 2018 A perfect get away for a family of four with the grandparents! We loved Konea Room 206! We do not want to leave! Jill the new owner of the place was really helpful and kept in contact with me through all the details of checking in and checking out of the room. Review of the Room: The room had everything we needed, we were able to cook our meals if we wanted, the beds were comfortable and the linens, towels and furniture were clean. Each room had its own tv. Also the room had booster seat for the my 2 yo, pack and play, tommy Bahamas beach chairs, beach umbrella, sand toys and boogie boards! The room is also a quick walking distance to the pools and beach. Review of the Resort The Resort is also amazing! There were multiple pools for the kids and adults! We loved the water slide and the toddler pool. The gym was really cool so many equipment you need to get a good workout. Also the beach is a quick walking distance and can watch beautiful sunsets! The Location The place is about 40 min drive from Kahului Airport but the drive is beautiful and goes by fast. There is a Time Supermarket across the street to buy the food you need to cook or drive down about 5 minutes to Whalers Village for good shopping and restaurants, also Old Lahaina is 10 minute drive as well for shopping and local eats! Oh one more thing there is Duke’s Restaurant on the property :) My husband and I can’t stop raving about the place and would love to come back again! Janine Klair A.

Jul 26, 2018 First time in Maui! 2nd family Hawaii Trip! My husband and three kids (17, 14, and 12) stayed at this condo for 7 nights. All of us slept great (cold central a/c, black out curtains), the kitchen was well stocked with everything if you want to cook your own meals, beach towels and chairs were provided, a portable high chair was provided and two pack and plays. I saw a lot of families making use of the outdoor BBQ’s. You only need to bring your personal items with you and you don’t need to bring so much clothing because there is a washer and dryer in the unit for you to do laundry. What I liked about the condo the most was the location and the amenities that Honua Kai has to offer. I thought I was far from a lot of popular snorkel spots, places to eat, and places to shop, but you’re not. It’s a 10 minute drive at the most depending on your destination. If you don’t want to go exploring on your own, don’t worry you can book a tour onsite in the lobby. You can even book a photo opportunity with a professional photographer if you want to. The grounds at Honua Kai are beautiful. The pool area is busy and my family never had a problem finding a chair to sit on. I did see people ordering food and drinks from Duke’s and just hanging out at the pool. You can watch a beautiful sunset from the resort every night. If you don’t want to leave the resort and want to feel like you’re on vacation this is the place for you. If you want to explore other parts of Maui and eat elsewhere then you can do just that. After driving to other parts of Maui, my family was happy to come back to this condo. We had the space we needed and didn’t mind sharing a bathroom. It felt liked a home to us. I was the first person to rent this condo from Jill after she purchased it from Will. Jill was in contact with me and wanted to make sure I had all the information about the condo before my vacation. Monty the on island contact, checked in on me a few times to see if everything was good and that I got into the condo. Thank you Jill, Will, and Monty! The place was beautiful and well equipped - comfy beds, lots of kitchen tools and dishes, great washer/dryer. We loved that Will even supplied beach chairs and beach toys. The beach itself at the resort is a little rocky, but smooth beaches are close by. Duke’s Restaurant is on site and delicious. Duke’s offers the food and drinks and a be pool too. While there were lots of people at the pools, there were always a few seats. We loved Honea Kai, Konea 206 and would recommend it to anyone coming to Maui!!! Verified traveler

Apr 03, 2018 Clean and bright Just what we want for a holiday - a clean place, with lots of sunlight! We loved the beach chairs, boogie boards and cooler. It was very easy to enjoy the Island while staying at your place. The extra den gave us a lot of space to use. The open view to the grassy area, while still seeing the ocean, was perfect. Nice private lanai to enjoy every morning with the sunrise. Thanks for all the information you had available on the HomeAway app. It definitely was easy to access and super handy to have. The kitchen was well stocked with Keurig cups & a spice rack. Every appliance anyone would need is in the kitchen. Two master suites and 3rd bedroom also has a king. This bedroom also has a vent to the dining-living room area which is a bit odd and makes for less privacy in this room. Loved the resort and the friendliness of the staff. Jan 18, 2018 Perfect Home Away from Home You know it's a high class place when you sleep better in your vacation bed than you do at home. Everything about unit # 206 was exceptional! Comfortable beds, outstanding resort, friendly staff, great location, full kitchen for saving money on meals, massive bathroom, beach wagon, chairs, toys. Just everything you would expect from a high-end resort. Will and Monty were attentive to everything we needed. If you want a clean, upscale unit within a fabulous family or couples resort come to Honua Kai. Can't wait to return to Honua Kai Resort. Thanks Will for the gracious hospitality and look forward to coming back for another unbelievably fun family vacation. Mahalo! Matt A.
Jan 08, 2018 Fantastic stay at Honua Kai 206! Will’s property was perfect for our family - 2 adults and 2 older teenage boys. One son slept in the den/ 2nd bedroom and the other slept on the pull out couch. They were happy to have their “own rooms” on this vacation. Conveniently located to parking garage, beach, pools, hot tubs and Duke’s. We ate at Duke’s several times for lunch and dinner and had delicious food each time. Monty was very responsive and made the check-in process very easy. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai in the mornings, and the lovely views. We also made a couple of meals in the kitchen, which is stocked with all necessary equipment. The beach chairs and towels and coolers were also much appreciated! Highly recommend this unit for your Maui vacation! Heather K.

Nov 28, 2017 Great vacation in a great condo We stated in Konea 206 from Nov 11 - 17th of this year. We travelled as a family, my wife and I with our 4 year old son and a 4 month old. The condo was clean, spacious, had all the regular supplies as well as many extra spices etc. The appliances all worked great and the view was even better than expected. There were plenty of beach toys and supplies(wagon, cooler, chairs, umbrella etc) and both the owner and property manager were great to deal with. The resort itself is very nice and was quiet during our stay. There is a grocery store across the street, only a couple of minutes walk. We will definitely be back to Honua Kai and if possible, back to this condo. Mandeep G.
Nov 13, 2017 Beautiful Beautiful view from lanai of huge landscaped lawn area and mountains and peek of ocean. Condo is also beautiful and very clean. Kitchen has everything one needs. Closet is stuffed with toys, 2 chairs and 2 Boogie boards. Condo also has plenty of beach towels. Owner is really nice, communicates frequently with important information and easy to contact. Checkin was simple as the owner's manager is there upon arrival to give wristband keys and tour of condo. Sharon R.
Nov 10, 2017 Perfect for families with kids! This was our second time staying in Konea 206, and it feels like our "Maui home." We wouldn't stay at any other resort! We love Honua Kai for the kids - the waterslide, night time frog hunting, waterfalls, smoothies and drinks brought to you from Duke's while you relax watching the kids swim. We love room 206 because it is a two bedroom unit for the price of a one bedroom! The kids each had their own bed, one in the den (she loved the huge queen size bed!) and one on an air mattress in the living room. There is also a pull out couch bed for a third child. The room also has every other thing you could want -- two fans, a pack and play for little ones, booster seat, child swim floaties, child life vest, and all the beach gear you could need -- including an awesome wagon (we had SO many compliments on the wagon! If you rent a Chrysler minivan the wagon fits perfect in the back!). We also love the huge bathroom - we could all be in there and not feel crowded. We won't be staying anywhere else! Oct 14, 2017 Amazing vacation, mahalo This was our third vacation at Hono Kai, we love the central location, lani overlooks amazing view of mountains and periodic rainbows. Unit was clean and well appointed with condo supplies for the kitchen, bath, and toys for the pools and beach. BBQs, Dukes restaurant, multiple pools, incredible beach, onsite convience stores...... all add up to a relaxing vacation . James Y.

Oct 04, 2017 Beautiful suite and view! We just got back from staying here for a week - could have stayed longer! The view was lovely, you can see the sunrise, mountains and peeka boo view of the ocean. The suite is stocked with everything you could need. We traveled with our toddler and used the travel crib & booster that were there. So helpful! Pools and beach are steps away. There is a shopping plaza with a grocery store a very short walk away. Reviewer Comments: We initially booked a 3BR/3BA room though the Honua Kai hotel and then cancelled our reservation to book this particular unit and we are so glad we did. Not only was this unit cheaper, but being able to pick the exact location and view was priceless for us. From the time we booked our vacation to the day we left, Jeremy was beyond helpful in answering our questions and helping us with anything we asked of him. He greeted us in the lobby (even though we were there a bit early) and showed us to our room and gave us a quick tour. The unit is beautiful and in the perfect location. We not only picked this unit for the view but also because they include beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, a large cooler and beach toys. We visited a beach every day of our trip so we couldn't have asked for more in terms of the extra amenities this unit provides. The kitchen is not only beautiful but fully stocked with every appliance you could ask for. The bedrooms are large, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are beautiful. We spent so much time out on the lanai when we were in the room and had the glass doors open almost all the time. We were able to enjoy our wonderful condo but still feel like we were outside experiencing the island. We spent time in the pool, on the beach in front of the hotel and ate at Duke's on the Beach. We loved them all. There's a store on the ground floor of the tower and we loved getting ice cream there and any little items we might have forgotten to pack. Not only is this condo absolutely wonderful but the service we received from Jeremy and his team was really the icing on the cake. We had a small medical issue while we were there and Jeremy was beyond helpful and we really can't thank him enough for making our vacation that much better. We highly recommend this unit and any other unit that Jeremy manages if you are considering a trip to Maui! Amanda B.

Sep 05, 2025 Just amazing. We’ve stayed at Honua Kai many times in different units. This unit has the most amazing view, front and center for beautiful Maui sunsets. This was such a spacious unit for 5 couples, each having their own bathrooms with good sized bedrooms and luxury bedding. We loved that each bedroom had its own thermostat making the rooms much cooler to sleep with blackout curtains for afternoon naps. Kitchen was enormous and very well stocked with quality pots and pans, dinnerware etc. Large refrigerator with separate wine fridge as well. We loved having the extra beach chairs and wagons available for our snorkel days. It was so convenient to just wheel everything down to Kahekili Beach that we did that a few times on our trip. Would highly recommend this home for your next vacation. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Lei Warren
