Perfect Location for a Family

Our family of four spent two weeks at the condo and it lived up to all of our expectations. The location is amazing and it had all of the amenities that our family needed. It was spacious and clean, and the laundry machine was a definite plus! We usually rent beach chairs and bring our own beach towels so the fact that the condo was stocked with those items (along with beach umbrellas and cooler bags for the beach) was a huge plus! The management team was excellent and extremely communicative, keeping us in the loop every step of the way and answering all of our questions within minutes of texting them. We had an issue with some of the pillows in the condo (we are allergic to down) and when we texted them about it, they went and bought 4 new pillows for us and dropped them off that day. They definitely go the extra mile! We will definitely be back in the near future. Mahalo!

One of the best at Kaanapali Villas

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was perfect for our needs. Very well equipped with supplies, including beach chairs, beach umbrellas, soft cooler and beach toys. Comfortable beds and decor. The only thing that would have made our stay more comfortable was more places to sit and relax. The fold out couch was great for our kid to sleep on but not comfortable as a couch and it would have been nice to have plush lounge chairs with footrests on the lanai instead of dining table chairs.

First time in Maui

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Excellent location and property

Well equipped kitchen and BBQ area, proximity to the Kaanapali beach walk and lovely pool area are our highlights! The lanai was perfect for watching the sunset and we saw whales off the coast at every meal. The unit was spacious for two people, and we enjoyed our early mornings and early bedtimes very much since it was so quiet!

Sep 25, 2024 Beautiful property and location Absolutely beautiful! The location and proximity to the beach cannot be beaten. This I was our 4th trip to Maui and we always stay at MKV. This was our first time at this property and it was by far the best unit we’ve stayed in. The property was clean and had everything we needed to make our vacation smooth and easy. Sep 25, 2024 Maui Family Vacation Our stay at this condo was perfect for our family of four! It was clean, well cared for, and had everything we needed (it looks just like the pictures online). The location on the property and in Ka'anapali was fantastic! The pool and beach were beautiful and were within a few steps of the condo. We rented snorkel gear for the week at the hut on the property and snorkeled at the reef just down the beach (a very short walk on the beach). It was amazing...lots of fish and we saw a large turtle! The beach walkway was great for morning walks, and we enjoyed coffee/breakfast on the balcony at the condo each morning. We saw a beautiful sunset from the balcony, too! The food & drinks at Castaway Cafe were very good and the staff on the property were very friendly. Communication with the property management was excellent and thorough. Only a four-minute drive to Whalers Village in Lahaina...great shops & restaurants (the property offers a shuttle, as well) and 10 min. drive to Kapalua. We didn't want to leave...everything was perfect! We would definitely stay here, again! Thank you! Julie M.

Central AC for entire complex was out starting in late January. Would prefer that Hawaii Life had disclosed that when they found out. Probably would not have changed anything since we had made full payment by then. Replacement AC units were supplied but were noisy so we did not use them. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We ended up staying at this resort because the original one I booked had a maintenence issue that couldn't be resolved in the time we were visiting,and the company we used had us stay here.Pros:the 2nd floor room was gorgeous,clean,and the view from the balcony was peaceful and pretty...cons:we were TOLD we would be staying here,by text only,without any knowledge of this resort....the balcony isn't private at all.Its on a main walkway where everyone walking by can see you out on the balcony(not what i was wanting to relax)...the resort itself seemed old.And the villas we stayed at had only a pool and no other amenities(the one I paid for had alot of pools and slides)....lastly,customer service was very poor.Only found out about the maintenance issue when we landed by text.After a couple days of emails/texts/phone calls(3 days to be exact),we finally spoke to the company's representative(he was out of town and was unaware of the whole situation)which was positive,he was very nice....I write this review,as I said to the manager,to please just be better about communication and customer support.Other than that,we made the best of our stay and had a great time. Jul 07, 2023 Wonderful condo and great location I hesitate to write this review because I want to keep this place a secret. Prior to the trip. Team Stice responded to my questions almost immediately. Condo was wonderful. Check-in was easy and the people behind the front desk are incredibly friendly and helpful. Entering the unit the first time, the air conditioning was already turned on, which was a nice touch. Kitchen is well appointed. Beds are comfortable. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was nice to have. The property is well maintained. Lounge chairs are available on the lawn. The beach is sandy with no rock or coral near the shore, perfect for taking a dip. We saw turtles swimming by every day. Lot of great restaurants nearby, but Castaways on the property is a solid casual restaurant with live music every other night. I had a great stay and look forward to coming back. Rod M.

May 29, 2023 My Happy Place This was a lovely condo. It had everything that we needed and then some. The unit has lots of space. It also has a stackable washer and dryer.😃My sister and I had a wonderful time! There is great snorkeling by black rock. The Castaway restaurant has wonderful food. May 01, 2023 Close to everything, but quiet! Comfortable, well set up with good beds, couch and patio furniture were comfortable. Kitchen was good. Bathroom set up is different, toilet is not handicap accessible. Closet doors are broken, bathroom toilet door was broken. Those were not deal breakers, but just showed lack of maintenance and care. You will need to park and walk and carry everything about the length of 2 football fields and go up a flight of concrete stairs. Pool is nice. Beach access was nice, there were dolphins playing 10’ off shore one morning and a curious sea turtle another morning. Air conditioning was tricky as it flips off if you access the patio and don’t close the door perfectly. We had to reset it several times. Not a good long term stay place, but okay for a few days. The unit was clean, very comfortable and well equipped. We love the location as it is close to walking trails, great restaurants and tons of activities. The pools were great and never seemed crowded. The only downfall that I can mention is that parking can sometimes be a challenge, but we always seemed to find a place to park. Dec 25, 2022 Loved the Location! This place brings a lot to the table! It’s a very open, spacious unit with everything you could need for the beach and pool (pool noodles, beach toys, 4 tommy bahama chairs, beach umbrellas, cooler, drying rack for towels and suits). I also appreciated having chip clips and lots of Tupperware to take sandwiches and snacks down to the beach. Thank you for thinking of those small touches! The location is amazing for those who want to be as close as you can get to the beach, restaurant, and big pool. The lanai is a great size. We enjoyed eating our breakfast out there and sitting and having a drink while our toddler took her afternoon nap all while enjoying being outside with a good view. We would definitely stay here again. I think one way to make this place even better would be to upgrade the bedroom pillows to something comfier and more hotel-like as they are pretty darn flat. Otherwise, this place had everything we needed to make our family vacation a 10/10. For anyone staying who have young kids, Baby Beach was a must! The condo is steps away from the Kaanapali beach. The pool & hot tub are a few steps away. Pool is perfect for little kids to swim in as well as for grown upsThe kitchen is well stocked & newly remodeled Beds are comfortable Cons:A few things around the house were broken & need fixing -The sliding door to the bathroom is old & broken so it couldn’t be locked. The shower head is leaky & fell off a couple of times.The glasstop of the dining table is sliding off its supports - it’s resting precariously on a pedestal shaped like a pineapple. We were afraid it would fall & lead to an accident, especially since we had young kids running around.Living room lamp shade & the top of one of the barstools were broken too.The place can get a bit noisy as it’s opposite to the pool & castaway cafe which has live music playing in the eveningsWiFi listed in the condo’s handbook wasn’t working. We contacted the property manager regarding the broken things around the house & they said they were waiting to hear from their handyman, but no more communication from them after that.Overall though, we had a good stay here. This was our first time renting unit 292. It was everything as promised, excellent. Looked to be freshly upgraded as the kitchen was great with new appliances, bright and clean. Condition was same throughout the condo, in great condition, nice flooring, furniture and décor. Bathroom also very updated looking, very clean. And the location was simply amazing, perfect spot to be at the MKV resort overlooking the pool and the Castaway restaurant/bar (short walk for me to get a beer!). Nice partial ocean view and very short walk to the beach. Condo also stocked with some basic beach gear like Tommy Bahama beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. This has been easily the best condo we've rented at MKV, will definitely look to stay here again one day! Peter M.

Mar 10, 2022 Fantastic Property! I scoured the internet and multiple websites to find the best value for my family. The most important things on our list were beach access, a quality beach, affordability, and a good kitchen. We got all that and much more. The unit we stayed in was steps from the pool, steps from the beach, and steps from the resort restaurant. The beach stretch by the resort was beautiful, probably the best beach for young kids in Maui. Pool wasn’t crowded. Cleanness was 5/5, the kitchen was fully stocked and updated appliances. The porch was a huge bonus as it was gigantic. The only downside was I tried to communicate with the property manager. They did not pick up the phone, respond to voicemail or texts. So a big fat 0/5 for that. Other than that, I would recommend, just hope you won’t have to contact the property manager for any problems. Chase T.
Feb 16, 2022 Shhhh…keep this one a secret ;) Amazing find. My husband, 2 kids (11 & 7) and MIL all stayed here for a week in late January. The unit is ideally located overlooking a dreamy pool and less than a minute stroll to heavenly beaches. The resort is a hidden gem, not overly crowded, impeccably cared for with gorgeous vegetation. The kids pretty much lived in the pool and ocean and we had so much fun as a family relaxing and playing together. The condo is clean, spacious, and perfectly stocked with all the amenities and comforts we could want while on vacation. The property manager was friendly and responsive when a minor issue arose as well. We hope to be back as often as life will permit! Christen M.

Jan 30, 2022 Amazing time with 2 small children We came back to Maui for the 5th wedding anniversary with our 4 and 2 years old. The property has everything we needed and is within a few min walking distances to the sandy beach (though sadly beaches are eroding) which was great since we had 2 small kids in tow. The only issue we had was that the laundry machine was leaking water, and we contacted the owner. They were quick to respond but unfortunately, the laundry machine never gets fixed during our 9-day stay. Otherwise, everything was wonderful! Will come back again! Aya L.

Sep 18, 2021 Best Trip Ever This place is amazing and exceeded our expectations. 1) The location- the best there is. Steps from the most beautiful (and swimmable) beach in Maui and a quick, pretty stroll to whaler’s village. We walked there every morning and night with our two young boys. 2) it’s much more low key and relaxing than the other resorts- not nearly as busy, always able to get a pool chair or prime beach spot. Very quiet. 3) the condo itself is beautiful! It’s in an older resort, but the unit has been redone perfectly- still has Hawaiian charm but modern. Full kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, huge lanai. Spent a lot of time on the lanai having cocktails while the boys slept. Also, it’s steps away from other resorts with a fun luau for kids, and convenient store. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to everyone we know. We walked by several resorts, and have been to Maui several times, and this place exceeds them all. Nicole W.

I only wish the furniture in the front room was cozier and softer to sit on. Didn't love the glass table either. Would have liked more comfortable chairs on lanai, too. Beds were great! May 29, 2021 Perfect Location for Relaxation If you are looking to come Maui to relax, look no further. This location is perfect for relaxing. Steps from both the pool and beach make both a great option. The beach chairs and umbrella are a huge plus. The pictures of the unit are spot on. It's a great unit. There was an issue at check-in, but it was resolved somewhat quickly. That being said, the property manager could have been a little more communicative. An email and a voicemail both went unanswered. Spacious and close to both the pool and beach. Kitchen - Very clean, updated, fully stocked (keurig machine, tea kettle, ninja blender, and good quality pans/knives). We were able to cook several meals no problem.Lanai - Huge with 2 nice tables. Had absolutely all the toys you'd want (pool noodles, snorkels, 4 beach chairs, beach umbrella). We left a couple boogie boards as well. Bedroom - 2 queen size beds. Vaulted ceiling. Bedroom has AC and a big screen TV.Living room - Clean pullout couch, big screen TV, vaulted ceiling, Dining table, separate AC unit.Bathroom - Large and nicely tiled. Shower had tons of space. Washer and dryer in unit are fantastic!Pool - Literally a 20 second walk from the front door. Not the largest pool in Maui, and not frills, but perfect for the kids to play in. Might have been due to Covid, but the pool was mostly empty on most days, and getting loungers was easy. Easy to get food/drinks there from Castaway cafe.Beach - About 30 seconds from door to beach. Could hear the whales singing under water. You'll be happy the unit comes with reclining beach chairs and all the toys. Easy access to SUP/kayak rental. Paradise.Castaway cafe - Good food and service. Highly recommend the cheese curds and lava flow (drink).Only downside that we could see people having an issue with was that the boardwalk crosses directly in front of the unit, so there is a fair amount of foot traffic to be seen from the lanai. It didn't really bother us, but some people may prefer more privacy. Adam S.

Well-appointed with everything you might want/need for an extended stay and the view overlooking the pool and path was fabulous! We spent every meal on the balcony watching the world go by and enjoyed the beachside restaurant a couple of times as well! The location is perfect to access the general area and to tour to farther reaches of the island. The ability to walk along the path that runs up and down the beach to other resorts and Whaler's Village was perfect! I would recommend this condo to anyone who is heading to Maui for a visit! Jan 18, 2020 Great beach location and beautiful unit!! We had a great time. The property was spacious and even better than the pictures. The beach is literally steps away and there is an amazing reef For snorkeling just down the beach about 100 yards in front of the Kahekili beach park. We saw a turtle there and schools of fish. We walked on the beach walk which is right outside the unit downstairs. Walked to Whaler’s Village - about a 20 minute walk and also walked to black rock - about 15 minutes. The Castaway Cafe has fun bartenders and the pool and hot tub were great. Unit has huge balcony and I had my coffee out there every morning with the in-room keurig and coffee provided. Communication prior to arrival was easy. We received a text after we landed with check in information and directions as well as a guide for local activities and restaurants. Checking in was simple and we were given all the information we needed to make our stay on the property easy. We can not say enough good things about the condo itself! It is in the perfect location and has everything you could need and more! The kitchen has been updated and had everything for us to cook all our meals. There was also plenty of storage and a large fridge and freezer so we could settle in for the week. The living area had a large TV and sitting for all of us. The dining table overlooked the pool and beautiful grounds. The two queen beds were comfortable and the split AC allowed the bedroom to stay cool at night. However, the best part of the unit was the lanai! It was the perfect place to have our coffee in the morning with views of the ocean and fun people watching as the ocean boardwalk goes right in front. It also housed everything you could need for a day at the beach! We had chairs, sand toys, umbrella, and boggie boards, which we used daily. There were snorkels as well, but we brought our own. The location of this property allows you to walk to the pool and beach in moments, perfect for watching the gorgeous sunsets or taking a quick dip in the pool or hot tub. With the beach walk going through the property, you can easily walk to Black Rock or Whaler’s Village. It is a great place to walk or run in the mornings. We have already recommended this unit to friends and family and would stay here again! Amy H.
Oct 20, 2019 Fantastic facility for our family The property is a perfect fit for our small family of two adults and a three-year old -- but could definitely accommodate more very comfortably! The location of the unit on the resort is fantastic overlooking the pool, near the restaurant, and just steps away from the beach. We had been to MKV before and were looking forward to another great visit. The resort was just as we remembered it and the unit was even better than expected. The unit had everything we needed and every detail covered. The unit is in great condition with plenty of space for 3-4 people. The balcony is wonderful , the separate bedroom is great for naps and different bed times, and the unit is so well equipped that we just showed up and enjoyed vacation without any hassles or worries. The resort staff is great and communication with the property manager was incredible with helpful details following our initial reservation, updates and instructions leading up to our stay, and a welcome note and chocolate covered macadamia nuts for us on arrival. It was a fantastic week on Maui and this unit was exactly what we were looking/hoping for! Trevor J.

The condo itself was large with a large lanai, stocked with all the amenities that we needed, and just steps away from the ocean. Sep 08, 2019 GREAT!! What a fantastic choice we made staying here! Perfect in every respect-the location, the accommodations, the managers of the property, all went together to produce a most pleasant vacation for us all. Our family ranges in ages from 5 months to 68 years and it was perfect for us all. We liked being on the second floor as it was easier to keep the two year old from running off, and it was fun watching the older kiddos in the pool just off our spacious lanai! We slept well on the great beds, especially since the unit has two thermostats and we were able to close off the rest of the home and keep the bedroom cool(and dark.) We appreciated the in-unit washing machine and dryer SO much. Thank you! The modern kitchen had everything we could have wanted, including a Keurig. We also appreciated the beach stuff left for us-chairs, ice chest, snorkels and masks, noodles, buckets and shovels...we wanted for nothing! Don’t miss the Orientation the first morning. Stay for the end, as they give away great prizes. We won a snorkeling trip to Lana’i through Quicksilver that we are still talking about! Also don’t miss the Mai Tai Party on Wednesday afternoons. We won prizes there, too! And the Mai Tais were surprisingly good(and strong!) The live music at Castaway, between the pool and the beach, three nights a week is perfect. Swim, relax, drink, read, laugh...the music does nothing but add to the pleasure. Overall, I would say our vacation was a huge success-in large part because of our choice to stay here. The location cannot be beat. In spite of it being in the heart of the ‘hotel strip’ this resort has managed to keep itself low key and relaxed. Glenda V.

The condo is steps away from the Kaanapali beach. The pool & hot tub are a few steps away. Pool is perfect for little kids to swim in as well as for grown ups The kitchen is well stocked & newly remodeled Beds are comfortable Cons: A few things around the house were broken & need fixing - The sliding door to the bathroom is old & broken so it couldn’t be locked. The shower head is leaky & fell off a couple of times. The glasstop of the dining table is sliding off its supports - it’s resting precariously on a pedestal shaped like a pineapple. We were afraid it would fall & lead to an accident, especially since we had young kids running around. Living room lamp shade & the top of one of the barstools were broken too. The place can get a bit noisy as it’s opposite to the pool & castaway cafe which has live music playing in the evenings WiFi listed in the condo’s handbook wasn’t working. We contacted the property manager regarding the broken things around the house & they said they were waiting to hear from their handyman, but no more communication from them after that. Overall though, we had a good stay here. The proximity to the beach & pool & a spacious & clean living area were the highlights of this property. We will go back to MKV in the future. Sudipta B.

Our check-in was a bit off...we were not told about the additional parking, the bellman style luggage carts to wheel our luggage on, or the free Trolley to and from Whalers Village. Fortunately, we figured it all out on our own! Just wanted to note it here for future travelers. My only recommendation would be to have a binder with all the info sent via email, we forgot to print it and it would be so much easier than scrolling on our phones! Anne A.

Maui is one of my favorite spots in the world because the variety of beaches nearby, convenience to luaus, shopping, and dining. The inside is beautifully decorated and set up is really nice, right sized kitchen, double wide lanai with room for eating outside as well as storage for boogie boards, scuba gear and bathing suit drying rack that were all nice surprises to have. The room has a view of the main pool and the ocean which is wonderful. But close the doors, and it was still a comfortable place. Good bedding, extra towels, a washer/dryer handy for beach towels and not taking home wet items, not to mention plenty of cups, plates, pans, and serving platters to cook onsite. While these condos are not the newest in this area, they are well maintained, the grounds are beautiful and it has all the amenities you’d want. Castaways cafe, on the property, has great tropical drinks and live music a few evenings a week, and decent meals if you don’t feel like leaving the site. Also the beach on this property is, IMO the best in the area. There are less people sharing the area than the high rise properties down the road, the water is warm and the sand is soft. We saw sea turtles and dolphins right there plus stunning sunsets. Shade and sun both available. We had a late night flight back to the mainland so though we had to check out at 11 am there was a place to store our luggage and the property has a spa locker room where you can shower and change before leaving, allowing you to still use the property your final day on the island. We could have asked (we didn’t know) to pay a day rate and use the room later in the day, but didn’t know that was possible. If you’d like to do that, do ask before arriving. Our option still worked but we would have happily paid a bit extra to have a base to stay that last day. Either way, I’d happily stay at this exact site again Jill B.
Apr 24, 2019 Location, Location, Location!!! This property has the perfect location! Steps from the pool, the beach, and the beach walk. The pool never had that overcrowded feel, poolside chairs were always available, and our kids were fully entertained. We loved being able to easily access the Beach Walk for morning walks to Whaler’s Village. One of the islands best beaches is just steps away and this unit has all the beach gear you will need. The remodel of this unit is beautiful, however the unit is starting to show some wear like the sliding door paint is peeling off in big chunks, the molding is dirty, the fan near the shower doesn’t work. That aside though, we would definitely come back to stay here! Jeff H.

We were on the second floor, overlooking the famous Kasnapali beach walkway, and with a view of the Castaway Restaurant. We had a small view of the ocean. The condo was clean, and we'll stocked with dishes. A nice glass table and chairs accompanied a sofa and chair. It looked to be updated in the ladt5 years or so. There were 2 beds in the Bdrm, and oddly no lamp on the table between. Apparently, the room had been changed to accommodate two beds, and the lighting in the ceiling did not light either of the new beds. I imagine it is a work in progress. Lighting in the living/dining room was inadequate as well. The bathroom fan did not work. With a few changes, this has potential to be a 4 Star property, but we can give it 2-3 stars. The condos around are being remodeled now, and that may be of interest. There were 2 gatherings to acquaint folks with the property and concierge services, and a Mai tai gathering mid week. Just love the resort, However when I booked E 292, I forgot they had added the Beach Walk through the middle of the resort. Folks start walking at 4am, and walk until the middle of the day, and some run. Gets tiresome watching from the lanai. Which brings me to my only real complaint about E292. The lanai chairs are VERY uncomfortable, the only chairs out there are those dining room table chairs, very straight backed and hard! Your bottom will be numb even with the cushions. They also need some chairs with arms, something that makes you want to spend time looking at the lovely view. The condo itself is very roomy, and nicely furnished. The bathroom needs a fan in the toilet area, no window or anything in there, it does get stuffy. Kitchen could use more gadgets, I had to go buy a juice pitcher at Longs, Your Welcome! Beds are VERY comfy, AC is tempermental, if you do not have the balcony doors shut tightly, it will not come on, and Blinks BALCONY until you figure out how to fix it. At $300.00 a night, it needs some tweaking. The floors are very dirty, do not walk barefoot on the lanai either!!! Aloha! Lori H.

This unit exceeded my expectations! Everything was new and clean and that’s exactly what I was looking for! This is exactly the kind of unit I was looking for as my other searches promoted old and dated units with krusty comforters! This was my first time to Hawaii and this place left such a lasting memory I will for sure return! I worked with Megan and she answered all my questions when booking this place. As far as the beach it was so beautiful! Walked down to the nearby condo complex and so glad I didn’t book there as that Beach was overpopulated. The Maui Kaanapali villa condo complex has a very private feel. Also ate at the castaway cafe a few nights which was delicious, even got carry out one night. If you are one to just plan on sitting on the beach drinking a cold one, this is the place for you! We were very pleased with the new renovation. The unit had everything you could need down to the Keurig machine. Their are two thermostats so it was very nice to have one room warmer to sleep (my husband) and the other room cooler for me to watch tv. I’d like to mention that the unit location is great in terms of the beach but quite a walk from parking and up a flight of stairs (no elevator). There are luggage trolleys available but only work up to the stairs then you’re on your own. However once settled in it wasn’t an issue. All staff was pleasant and courteous. Jeanette H.

The location was perfect...right by the pool and beach with a view from the lanai. We really appreciated that it came with all the things you need for the beach like chairs, boogie boards, cooler and even fins. The bed was comfortable and the condo layout perfect for the two of us. We even had two extras for a couple nights and it worked out great. The bartenders at the Castaway restaurant on the premises would be our only complaint as they were not helpful and actually one bartender was quite we didn't eat there much. Feb 17, 2024 Excellent location and property Well equipped kitchen and BBQ area, proximity to the Kaanapali beach walk and lovely pool area are our highlights! The lanai was perfect for watching the sunset and we saw whales off the coast at every meal.
