Great location!

Beautiful house! Enjoyed our stay. Ali’i Point location provides you a great view and waves constantly crashing. Great layout of the house although not much shaded outdoor area in the back is a little draw back. In the evening if you want to watch TV it’s hard to do so without closing the doors due to sound from waves and koi pond but then it gets warm as this area is unable to be air conditioned (minor complaint). Bedrooms are very comfortable and nicely air conditioned for sleeping. Overall a great experience and hopefully we’ll get to stay here again!

This home was exactly as pictured. We spent every evening watching the sun set from the hot tub. During the day we opened up all of the doors/walls downstairs and the cross breeze was amazing. Fully stocked kitchen and toiletries. If you want a rental house that gives you the full island experience with the most beautiful view we’ve ever seen, this is the one.

You cannot get any closer to the crashing surf than this house. Absolutely amazing! Whales swimming by all day long, dolphins jumping and spinning just off the coast, outrigger canoes paddling back and forth. These are just a few of the highlights, not to mention incredible sunsets that go on forever. The house is immaculately appointed with everything that you could want or need. Very private and quiet, save for the ocean sounds. A great privilege and opportunity to experience something most could never even dream of. Excellent!

We loved this beautiful home on the lava rocks! The pool was gorgeous and the view was the best in the world. The rooms are pristine and the kitchen is lovely. We'd definitely love to go back again!

Description

Ali'i Drive runs a quiet stretch of coastline south of Kailua Bay, where the lava shelf meets the Pacific and the trade winds carry the sound of surf through open windows. Ali'i Point #9 sits along that stretch, a 3,190-square-foot home with three bedrooms, three and a half baths, and a private infinity edge solar heated pool overlooking the ocean. A pod-style layout gives the home its rhythm. Living and kitchen open to the lanai on one level, bedrooms resting above, each connected by a covered walkway allowing nature to seep in.

What You'll Love About Ali'i Point #9
• 3,190 square feet across two levels, with ocean views from the primary suite and guest room equipped with Queen bed
• Private pool and jacuzzi, outdoor shower, and a lanai built for long afternoons
• Koa-wood kitchen with a full chef's setup
• Community tennis and a second heated pool within the gated community
• Walkable to Ali'i Drive beaches, coffee, and casual dining

The Main Level
Vaulted ceilings carry the breeze through the living and dining area, where sliding doors open to the lanai and the pool beyond. The kitchen anchors the space. Koa-wood cabinetry the color of dark honey, a full suite of appliances, and counter space enough for two cooks and a conversation. This is the floor where the day gathers. Breakfast at the counter, lunch under the lanai cover, a long dinner with the sliders pulled wide and the sound of water moving somewhere close. Due to this open flow layout, this space does not feature air conditioning.

Outdoor Living
The lower level opens directly to the water, with the pool set into lava rock just above the shoreline. Lounge seating lines the edge, with shaded areas for midday and open sun closer to the water. An outdoor shower sits just off the pool for easy rinses after the beach.

The lanai ties it all together; pool, lounge, and dining in one continuous space. Mornings start here, afternoons drift between sun and shade, and evenings settle in as the light softens over the coast.

Sleeping Quarters
All bedrooms occupy the upper level, linked by a covered open-air walkway. Given the oceanfront proximity and the separation between floors, the layout suits adult guests and older children.

• Primary suite: king bed with ocean views, en-suite bath with a jacuzzi tub
• Second bedroom: king bed, en-suite bath, mountain views toward the slopes of Hualalai
• Third bedroom: queen bed, en-suite bath, ocean views just outside the shutters

Extras
Air conditioning in the bedrooms, ceiling fans and cross breezes everywhere else. High-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and full laundry.

Resort & Community
The Ali'i Point community offers a lap pool and tennis courts shared across the neighborhood. Beyond the gate, Ali'i Drive is the Kona coast in short form. Snorkeling, surf-watching, waterfront restaurants, and a steady stream of outriggers and paddleboards heading out at dawn.

Nearby
• A short walk to Ali'i Drive beaches, coffee shops, and casual dining
• A short drive to Kona Country Club, hiking trails above the coast, and the cultural sites around Hulihe'e Palace

Good to Know
• Air conditioning is installed in the sleeping areas only. The main level stays cool through vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, and trade winds off the water.
• All bedrooms are on the upper level, connected by a covered outdoor walkway. • The pod-style design embraces the outdoors. Guests with small children should review the layout carefully before booking.
• No EV charging on-site. Guests with electric vehicles should plan charging elsewhere during the stay.
• A starter kit of basic supplies is provided. Please replenish as needed for longer stays.
• Hawaii Tax ID: TA 166-655-4368-01
• STVR License: STVR-19-363491 / NUC-19-1388 / PL-NUCR-2026-003582
• TAT ID: TA 166-655-4368-01

Reserve while your week is still open. The Kona coast keeps its own time, and Ali'i Point #9 is a fine place to learn its rhythm. Mornings on the lanai, afternoons in the pool, evenings as the light turns copper over the water.

May 03, 2024 This house and view could not have been better. We watched whales and saw spinner dolphins from the lanai. The openness of the house allows for ocean breezes throughout. The koi pond was a great and entertaining addition. This home is so peaceful and private. We would definitely stay here again. Jason Johnson
Apr 08, 2024 We really enjoyed the design of the house and the ocean breeze! The house is just feet away from the crashing waves and we saw some humpback whales right from the back patio. We were even able to catch some fish and then fry them in the well-stocked kitchen. The master suite was amazing! The fish pond and waterfall feature were a nice touch also. Make sure you turn on the bright sea wall lights to enjoy seeing the waves at night! Thank you for the wonderful family memories made. Chris Chan
Mar 08, 2024 we had a great stay - good communication and very precise instructions. Private and peaceful setting in a gated residential community. An easy drive to Mauna Kea - we left at 3:30AM and was there by 5:15, ready and waiting when they opened the road to the top at 5:30AM. Plenty of dining options nearby and a great kitchen if you prefer to cook your own. Outdoor space was a major highlight with fantastic views from the pool deck. Rick Keegan

May 19, 2024 My husband and I booked this home for my 55th birthday as well as for a much needed vacation. This place is absolutely magical! No detail was spared; you truly will not want to leave this property - having the swimming pool right on the ocean with the waves crashing was spectacular! You have a view for as far as the eye can see. The home was immaculate with every amenity you need to cook in. We ate breakfast every morning out on the pool deck and saw sunsets in the evening that took our breath away. We created memories that will last a lifetime here. The management is thorough in providing all the help you might need and FAST to reply to any inquiries. So stop scrolling and make this your dream vacation. We cannot wait to come back! Our sincere thanks to the owners of this home who gave us the opportunity to experience such a magnificent space. Mahalo! Kathy Reece

May 03, 2024 Absolute paradise! This home was one of the best AirBnB's we've ever stayed at. It is beautiful, clean, exactly as described - if not better, in a picture-perfect location and has a great layout. The hosts were responsive and friendly and graciously accommodated an early check in and late check out. After traveling several hours to get to Hawaii, walking into this gorgeous home was the best way to start the trip. Our kids loved the infinity pool overlooking the ocean as well as the courtyard koi pond. Accordion glass doors allowed the warm breeze to flow through while we were inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lap pool within the complex where I swam multiple mornings. The location itself is fantastic. Outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Kona in a small private gated community, but close enough that beaches and restaurants didn't feel too far. I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a luxury beachfront Big Island experience. Emily Emanuel

Feb 25, 2025 Oceanfront Enjoyment Our family enjoyed staying at this updated oceanfront home at Ali’i Point. Dinners on the deck with incredible sunset views. Whales every day. Bedrooms had great AC. House was very clean. Quiet with only the crashing waves in the background. We would drive to a beach in the morning. Plenty of great beaches within a 45 minute drive. I let hosts know about a few small things to fix after we left and they were receptive and grateful. Great communication overall. We have stayed in various oceanfront homes on Kona over the years. This one was priced a bit higher for 3 bedrooms and no direct access to a beach, but felt private, clean and had outstanding shoulder to shoulder views of the ocean. Brett D.
Jul 17, 2025 Love the views! Amazing views and super comfortable! Clean and everything was accessible. James H
Jul 17, 2025 Truly spectacular location Crashing waves, orange sunsets, a tranquil breeze, and a refreshing pool to brave the hot days. On an island where views abound no matter where you venture, this house was so stunning we always wanted to stay at home. The decor is minimal and modern yet comfortable and designed to handle beach and pool time with ease. We also appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and convenient layout of the main floor with sliding doors that opened up entirely to capture the ocean air and sounds of the koi pond. A/C in the bedrooms was a must on warm summer nights, but we otherwise enjoyed the classic open air Hawai’i architecture. Location is perfect — peaceful surroundings at home but conveniently located near town shops, restaurants, and snorkel/surf spots. A hui hou! Lynda R
Jan 04, 2026 breathtakingly spectacular First, the great parts: this is hands down the best view in Kona proper. Southwest facing, unobstructed 200 (MORE than 180) degree ocean view that is nothing short of breathtakingly spectacular. Daily dolphin pods and whales passing by as you chill in the infinity edge pool. Lots of gathering space downstairs, with a TV + couches situation, a large seating area containing a massive coffee table (great for puzzles!), with a calming fish pond and waterfall as a centerpiece to all of it. Large kitchen with great quality appliances off the main area. Primary king bed suite is massive with its own seating area and killer views! Queen bedroom also has great views. Third king bedroom is ample enough, though moderately so. AC in bedrooms. Location of house is brilliant in that it is far enough from the touristy center but right across the street from a solid farmers market (Berry Bird there does great coffee). The not so great: no AC downstairs, as others have warned, and it gets warm. Craig McCullough
Mar 31, 2026 The house is amazing. We had such a wonderful time. Such an incredible view. Guest
