Paradise within Paradise

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our most recent visit to Maui, Hawaii’s Paradise. The local hosts were super responsive and the facilities were top notch. Great customer service! The condo is well equipped, clean and well maintained and the building is all first class. The valet parking is an added perk and the guys are terrific and will bring your bags, groceries and other shopping up to your suite. Be sure to tip them as they provide excellent service! The location was perfect with excellent beaches, a wonderful walkway that goes for miles down the beach, and a great restaurant on the property. It’s centrally located to everything for exploring or checking out the extensive food offerings within a short drive. This was our 2nd visit to this property and we’ll be back. Book with confidence knowing you’ll be at a luxury home away from home.

Wonderful condo for a family!

We had an incredible stay at Honua Kai Konea 204! The unit was clean and filled with everything our family needed for our 10 day stay in paradise; pack and play, high chair, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, coolers, etc. Thank you for allowing us to create great memories in your unit!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. It’s a beautiful condo at a really nice resort. We loved the pool and easy access to the beach with little kids. Couple of issues with the rental company. I asked three time the day before if early check in was available. No one answered but we continued to receive generic check in messages so we know someone was seeing it. We also had some nonfunctional things. One of the toilets didn’t work when we got there. They prefer to communicate via text and call, so I called the phone # I was given. There was no answer and the voicemail directs you to text a different # for immediate help. I texted it but you get an autotext back saying it is not an emergent # and to call back the first one I had just called. They did quickly have maintenance out to fix it once someone responded. The dryer door also didn’t work, it had tape on it to hold it in place so it was known before we got there. I sent a message and was told the new part was coming and they would have it fixed ASAP but they never did.

We booked our summer vacation at Honua Kai Resort with the Stice team from June 25th to July 2nd and this place is just great! The 3 pools keep the kids busy, the beach is just a hop away, there's plenty of bbq grills by the pool to grill dinner,the gym is great and the location of the resort can't be beat. There's a food trucks, restaurants and a market within walking distance. Are room was amazing!!!! Just as described by the host, Super clean, with all the amenities you would need. I think we used the beach chairs and umbrellas every day. Our host communicated with us very well and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. The Stice team met and exceeded our expecting with this room. We will definitely be booking with them a in the future A++ Steven T.

Sep 24, 2024 Amazing Stay! We had a wonderful stay in Honua Kai Konea 204. It was perfect for our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids). The unit was exactly as described: beautifully decorated, appliances worked well, clean and very comfortable. Honua Kai Resort was also exactly as described - great amenities and friendly staff. Hawaii Life staff was also super responsive. We couldn't find the BBQ tools and in less than 30 minutes a brand new set was delivered to our unit - magic!! Sep 24, 2024 Amazing Condo, great for a Family Vacation! This rental was just what we needed to feel like we were on vacation, it’s so nice to come to a nice clean rental and feel comfortable. The check in process was very easy and the communication from the Hawaii Life team was amazing, even after hours as well. This rental even had pack n plays for our young children, plastic kid dishes and utensils, and a high chair. This was a very comfortable place for our family, enough room to spread out. The resort was really nice too, 3 different pool areas, right next to the beach, and easy paths for walks with the young kids. We will definitely remember this rental for our next visit. P.M.

Having access to beach chairs, umbrellas, toys etc was nice. Easy access to the pool/beach. The Stice team were prompt and responsive when beach toys were missing and an umbrella was broken. Sep 24, 2024 Excellent!!! We absolutely loved staying at this property. The apartment was immaculate, and the location was wonderful. Everything was provided that we needed and the kitchen/outdoor grill was so nice to use to do our own cooking when we wanted. The pool was beautiful and very easy access to the beach or other beaches down the walkway. The only issues we had was the pool had to be closed a couple times but they staff was quick to reopen. Exactly as advertised in the photos. The unit is very close to the ocean/pool end of the building. We used the stairwell right next to our unit which exited us very close to the pool. The kids have lots to do with all of the pools and waterslide and the beach right in front. Great walking path to Whalers Village. Short drive to Lahaina for shopping and restaurants. Geoff P.

Scuba equipment available for rental- members of our group loved the proximity to a beautiful reef from the resort. The only drawback we experienced was the situation with parking. We discovered that the garage under the building our where our condo was located fills up at night, and we were unable to find convenient parking after leaving the resort for dinner on two occasions. Sep 24, 2024 Perfect Vacation Honua Kai 204 was PERFECT for our trip. We brought our 4 month old and the unit had everything we needed for him, but didn’t want to bring on the flight. Sep 24, 2024 Family gathering 2019 We had a group of 19 for a week. 15 of us were in three units at Honua Kai. We love the property. It is impeccably maintained. Konea 204 was beautiful! There were welcome chocolates and coffee for us when we arrived. The wall decor was fun and island-inspired....we hope to find one of the prints online and buy it for ourselves. This stay was at least our sixth visit to Maui. This unit and property are probably the best value anyone could ask for. They do paradise proud! Ron H.

Sep 24, 2024 Great value in Kaanapali I stayed in this condo in January of 2020 with my family (my 3 kids, wife, and myself). The condo was clean and will stocked. It was in a convenient location on second floor near the stairs and close to the elevator (but not too close to hear it). Beds were very comfortable. Honua Kai resort is great for families with 4 pools and plenty of activities. Duke's restaurant is on site for a quick bite or drink. There is a supermarket across the street and a small market in the lobby of the resort for any items you may need. The room has a peek-a-boo view of the ocean, but that didn't matter to us. A short walk and you were on the beach. I would highly recommend this unit and would stay here again. Daniel P.

Sep 24, 2024 Simply Amazing! This property is simply amazing! The unit is beautiful and comfortable. The amenities included beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and a cooler. The in unit washer and dryer were a plus for us since we stayed for 9 days. Sat on the lanai every morning with coffee and watched the sunrise over the mountain. The beach is beautiful. There is a coral reef right there that had fantastic snorkeling. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Book it, you won’t be disappointed! Jennifer W.

Aug 15, 2023 Good place, poor property management and communication and didn’t refund deposit Overall, the unit is good and located in a great place. Property Management (Hawaii Life) flooded us with communication to get the agreement signed and payment… then communication via email, phone, and text was nearly non-existent. They didn’t refund our full deposit nor expanded why they withheld our money. We would stay at Honua Kai Report again (our favorite) but stay away from this property management company. May 15, 2023 Excellent!!! We absolutely loved staying at this property. The apartment was immaculate, and the location was wonderful. Everything was provided that we needed and the kitchen/outdoor grill was so nice to use to do our own cooking when we wanted. The pool was beautiful and very easy access to the beach or other beaches down the walkway. The only issues we had was the pool had to be closed a couple times but they staff was quick to reopen. Feb 08, 2023 Unit was amazing…property not so much This unit was amazing. It is spotless, beautifully decorated, furnished with everything you could possibly need and in a nice location. The condo was a perfect size for 4 adults. The slight ocean view was a sliver above the palms trees but the mountain view was beautiful. Dining on the patio was a nice option. The screens were restricted from use and mosquitoes were coming in so we had to be sure to close the doors at night That being said, the building itself and property were a bit of a let down. The check in process was confusing. The valet informed us that the elevator on our side of the building was not operational (it never was fixed all week) so we needed to use the fire stairs which we did to avoid an extremely long walk to another elevator. The cranes erected across from our building were an obstruction to the view and work started every morning at 8. The pools were on the murky side and not very desirable for swimming. The amount of people reserving pool chairs with their belongings made finding a chair to use next to impossible. Signs warn that this isn’t allowed but I never saw any enforcement. The store on the first floor had a lot of items but the freezer was also broken all week so items like pizzas, ice cream and other frozen products were unavailable. Parking in the garage was almost always full after 6 pm (according to valet) so we opted to park in an open lot that was a short walk to our building. The towel lending process of scanning towels in and out worked fine. The food served around the property from Dukes was a plus. The staff at the recreational rental booth was great. When a group of 10 or more staying a few units down began smoking continuously on their balcony each day we informed the valet who said she would notify security and that was quickly rectified. We truly felt that the unit was way nicer than the building and the property. I would assume this is hard for the owner of the unit who may have little or no control over the general running of the building. Don’t go expecting a resort. This is a very beautiful condo in an ok building. It appears that the cranes will be around for a while since they are painting all of the balconies and buildings exteriors. It will look great when it’s done but if we had known in advance we would have chosen a different unit to avoid this. Luggage carts are available but only for use by bellman who were not available so be prepared to handle bags yourself. Lynn F.

May 23, 2022 Beautiful Condo/Great Resort Spacious and beautifully decorated condo. Great pools and beach area. Scuba equipment available for rental- members of our group loved the proximity to a beautiful reef from the resort. The only drawback we experienced was the situation with parking. We discovered that the garage under the building our where our condo was located fills up at night, and we were unable to find convenient parking after leaving the resort for dinner on two occasions. Honua Kai resort is great for families with 4 pools and plenty of activities. Duke's restaurant is on site for a quick bite or drink. There is a supermarket across the street and a small market in the lobby of the resort for any items you may need. The room has a peek-a-boo view of the ocean, but that didn't matter to us. The in unit washer and dryer were a plus for us since we stayed for 9 days. Sat on the lanai every morning with coffee and watched the sunrise over the mountain. The beach is beautiful. Nov 11, 2021 Amenities Included My family and I really enjoyed our trip to Kaanapali at the Honua Kai - Konea resort. The condo was fantastic. Clean, up-to-date, and most of all stocked with all of the extra amenities that make a Hawaii trip less stressful, especially with a toddler. The unit came with its own towels and beach chairs, which made accessing the beach significantly more enjoyable not having to utilize resort towels and rent chairs. A highchair and pack-in-play were also in the unit, which made traveling with a little one a breeze. Highly recommend this condo! Matthew P.

Aug 06, 2021 Great Property This unit made our stay on Maui wonderful. Full start up supplies were provided. Beach chairs, toys, towels, bag cooler, umbrella were also provided. Toiletries, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel also provided. Beds were very comfy. We have stayed on this property before and this location provided the best mountain view yet. You can see a peak of the ocean but the view of the mountain with the clouds was perfect. We had an issue with the dryer although the company provided fast repair. Parking is located under the building which fills up at night but had no issues. We will be back next year and if we need the two bedroom this will be our location. Penny K.

Mar 26, 2021 Family getaway This is our third time staying at Honua Kai. We love the resort feel while having a function kitchen dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. The beach in front of the property is great for sunset walks. However, the rocks and coral limit it for boogie boogie boarding or other ocean activity. We found many beaches up and down the coast that met our needs. The closet filled with beach chairs, towels and boogie boards was perfect. The property managers were responsive to our questions. Kitchen comes well equipped for cooking for yourselves, or there is Duke's on the property and food trucks near by. Feb 19, 2020 Wonderful option for families Honua Kai is a great resort for families with it's 3 pools and on site Duke's restaurant. This unit worked well for my wife and I and our two kids. It has a great selection of beach gear (backpack chairs, 2 umbrellas, sand toys, etc.) and beach towels. The rooms were nicely appointed and the kitchen was setup well. It's on the quiet side of the buildings at Honua Kai, which we like much better than the side facing in towards the pools. Easy access to the grounds and parking garage via a stairwell next to this unit, better than waiting for the slow elevator a ways down the hall. Would definitely return to this unit in the future. Exactly as advertised in the photos. The unit is very close to the ocean/pool end of the building. We used the stairwell right next to our unit which exited us very close to the pool. The kids have lots to do with all of the pools and waterslide and the beach right in front. Great walking path to Whalers Village. Short drive to Lahaina for shopping and restaurants. Geoff P.

Jan 16, 2025 It’s a beautiful condo at a really nice resort. We loved the pool and easy access to the beach with little kids. Couple of issues with the rental company. I asked three time the day before if early check in was available. No one answered but we continued to receive generic check in messages so we know someone was seeing it. We also had some nonfunctional things. One of the toilets didn’t work when we got there. They prefer to communicate via text and call, so I called the phone # I was given. There was no answer and the voicemail directs you to text a different # for immediate help. I texted it but you get an autotext back saying it is not an emergent # and to call back the first one I had just called. They did quickly have maintenance out to fix it once someone responded. The dryer door also didn’t work, it had tape on it to hold it in place so it was known before we got there. I sent a message and was told the new part was coming and they would have it fixed ASAP but they never did. Stephanie Meyer
